Description
The nucklevee:A creature of Scottish/Celtic mythological origin, a bringer of plague and famine that emerges from the sea and is the horrific amalgamation of man and beast.
A legend that began in the Orkney islands, the nucklevee is (technically) a sea monster that when on land takes the form of a long, gangly armed humanoid whose torso is grafted onto the back of a horses which in itself has a huge red eye on its face, and the entire creature is said to either had rotting skin or no skin at all (I kind of forgot this but didn’t Add it in since it might be graphic.
It wanders the land, spreading disease and towering over its victims. It is kept at bay by a being called the mither of the sea during the summer and the only way to stop it pursuing you is to cross a stream of fresh water.
((Always wanted to draw this creature, it’s not exactly obscure but it’s design and description is so terrifyingly unique I had to illustrate it, Iv actually been meaning to do more supernatural, eerie horror-sequel art but I don’t always know when or what to do for it.
