Description
a drawing of an anime-inspired character.so, sometimes i like to practice drawing anime, this is one of my first practice drawings, he hasn't got any colour, backstory or even a name, so iv always just called him the "unnamed anime character" though you can tell i based him off the usual characters like goku from dragon ball, toriko from...well toriko and even domon kashu from mobile fighter g-gundam.
to this day i haven't really done much to develop him or give him any more detail....BUT if anyone has any tips or ideas, id be enterally gratefull^^

I'm one of very few people who isn't really into anime, in fact, I've only really liked like two or three shows my whole life - one of them dbz, (and I mean really liked them) the others trigun and full metal alchemist - but sometimes anime does things that american comic books turned tv shows haven't done in a long time... and one of those things happens to be making new characters and ideas, so for that I appreciate anime. Yours is a very interesting piece. Is that a lightning shuriken? Awesomely badass.Β

animes kind of an queried taste, honestly i only like mecha anime or monster based anime, like yu-gi-oh or gundam. however DBZ type anime is hard to watch A:its got so many episodes that youde have to spend a year to get up to speed and B: theres so many characters, plots and other things that they call back to in the new series, but if you haven't seen all the episodes, and i mean ALL the episodes, you won't understand a thing.
so yeah, stuff like THE BIG O or BIO BOOSTER ARMOUR GUYVER, are more my style, their shorter witch is sad, but at least its got something i like and I haven't missed any of it. (ongoing mangas however...)
also thank you, again its too original or even very detailed but its getting there.
its not really so much as a shuriken as a concentrated ball o energy sending out lightning beams but if thats what it looks like to you the great

Actually Big O wasn't half bad, but my only gripe about anime is that it can take itself too seriously. Some people tell me not to treat it like another cartoon, but... I can't help it. I've seen most of DBZ, but not all the movies, and that was like when it first came out on toonami... with sailor moon? Don't quote me. I only liked two gundam series: one was the one with the heavyarms gundam, and the other was with the shining finger guy. Everything else is a blur.Β
See, I'm not an artist, so I miss the little details; for instance, I didn't see the round outline behind the lightning, so I just assumed it to be a ninja star. Sorry.Β

i can understand that, iv barley made it past the first dragon ball. sigh, i miss toonami
those are G-gundam (shining finger) and gundam wing ( heavy arms) along with those two and another called "after war gundam X" they could actually be in a franchise each of their own. gundam has mostly been about war, military and political dramatic undertones set in a futuristic world of space colonies with giant mechas and robots (even though i swear they've never actually called them "robots" once in the entire franchise, but i haven't seen all the series so don't quote me on that). but those three, although made by the exact same company as their predecessors, didn't focus on those things all the time, in fact, g-gundam is both hilarious and unique! they've got mechas that look like windmills and vikings for pete sake!...sorry I'm getting kinda excited.
you don't have to be an artists, sometimes it just takes a bit of focus and liking what it is you do, and its not imperative you know exactly what it is, in fact a lot of art (even though this is just a practice drawing) is about interpreting it in your own way. Id like yo think you could be a very good artist.

not really, some people usually start off with one thing then over time we may go onto something different, just because we like it more, were better at it or whatever other reason.
its just the way things change
