What have we done? Terrible things. To ourselves, to others, and to everything.

I read that every organism plays an important role in its native ecosystem. Removing any one organism has a negative effect on all the other organisms in that ecosystem. There is only one exception to this rule: us. Removing humans from the world could only be good for the global ecosystem. No species in their native ecosystems would be worse off if we disappeared. Very sad.

Looking on the bright side, that could suggest the existence of free will within humans, as the one element of earth that's not simply a cog in a natural machine. B.F. Skinner would say otherwise, but there's a reason he's controversial.

That's very interesting,
however I wouldn't go so far as to say humans could be removed without harming the ecosystem,
for all the bad we do I think there's still a place for humans we just don't always do what we should.
I do think we will be the downfall of earth but only because we are not playing our part(sort of removing ourselves)
