Thank you. My photoshop is an older version but we get by. What's neat is I've been learning some techniques by watching Gimp tutorials on you tube and applying them to PS. I've got Gimp but it confuses me after having familiarized myself with PS.

Yeah, a lot of people say that it is hard to learn GIMP when you started with PS.
But what bothers me the most is the price of PS. I owned an old version of PS too, I think PS 6, but even buying an update was too expensive and GIMP is way better than PS 6 now and it is for free. If you want to stay with free tools and still want a PS like handling you might consider looking at Paint.net

I'll check it out, cause your right about the PS cost being out of reach. I'm using PS 7, and I do a lot of work in PS Elements 7 which only ran me about 60 bucks.
