thanks....i took a normal explosion and melded it with the ship,but what really made the difference is when i played around with the pics brightness and exposure, that really brought out the wow in it.

its funny,i spent most of my time trying to get the shade/shadows and highlights just right. Even bumping around the light levels to get it right.

I really hate that ship, but I love the way the picture overall looks. I wonder what it would look like with the TOS or TMP Enterprise, or Gabriel Koerner's reimagined Connie.

A lot of people complain about the new "JJ-prise" but I think they had no choice but to redesign the old girl and pretty much everything else in Star Trek due to the convoluted nature of who owns what in the franchise. When CBS bought Paramount Television and became CBS Paramount, they obtained the full rights to the TV series and all related imagery, while Paramount Pictures retained the rights to the movies. Personally, I don't understand how you can split a franchise like that. And say what you will about Roddenberry, but if Gene were still alive today, he probably would not have let that happen.

my only complaint about the ship is the pylons /engines .jj made them rather round and bubble like.still it is a beautiful ship to look at

Nice work. I would actually like to imagine that in the new Trek sequal, they horribly destroy or damage the JJ prise and they either build or refit it, and it will look like the Constitution Refit or something like that, hopefully looking better than J.J's enterprise.

the new ship is ok, but i still prefer the motion picture refitted enterprise.
I was originally going to make this into a fake movie poster, but then I thought that would be cruel to all star trek fans.

I love the original tv series version the most but definitely liked TMP upgrade. I'm warmimg up to the new version but still think it looks a little strange. I think your version gave it a little more detail and character. Live long and Prosper
