LOL I'm lucky. I live in the northeast of the US so I don't have to deal with them... Although I did see a dead one when I went to Florida... It was just randomly on the street...

hehe. these particular scorpions sting doesnt hurt too bad. but i am so scare4d of them
with all this wacky weather if the northeast keeps on getting warmer they may end up there sooner rather than later

Scorpions are my favorite animal so it is a pity you had to squish it. But I understand.
Do you live in Arizona? Southern California? Southwest USA? or somewhere near there? If you do then that is probably a Bark Scorpion. It's the most venomous in the US but it's only potentially dangerous. Definately don't want them near children and the elderly.
If you really think this guy was big you've seen nothing yet. lol. If you go to the eastern hemisphere they get 8 inches long or more. The largest in the US is the Giant Hairy Scorpion growing about 6 inches, if I remember correctly.
Oh, and great shot by the way.

if it had headed back to the house. if it had headed towards the yard i wouldn't have minded lol. i am in Texas, yes it is a Striped bark scorpion, Centruoides vittatus . i have been stung by them not a bad sting at all and these are not lethal to humans. there are some in Arizona that are very venomous but i do not know the scientific name. naw this guy was big for a bark scorpion here but relatively small in comparison to most other scorpions.
thank you for the kind words and comment, also thank you for the fav as well

we have bark scorpions here but they are not all that harmful to humans unless of course you are allergic to the venom which is rare. thank you for the kind comment

O hell no!! Emperors are teh most poisonous!! Yea, I know how not to agitate them, and how to hold the tail if I feel they might go a bit trigger happy on me.... I likes them...

emperors are actually relatively harmless to humans. Androctonus australis aka Yellow Fattail Scorpion and Leiurus quinquestriatus aka Deathstalker Scorpion can actually kill a humans. these two species are very rare in captivity and both reside from africa. only reason i know this info is i have a friend who is a biologist who deals with venom research and keeps many of the worlds deadliest snakes and arachnids.
