Description During the Global Gamejam of 2012 we made the first level of β€˜Rebirth’. We made this game with a small team in 48 hours!
The images you see here are remade-backgrounds of the actual demo we made.

The background consists out of several layers and elements that can be rearanged in different compositions to support the gameplay.

You can find out more about the game here: [link]

I noticed that too, I'll try to re-upload it somewhere else, since it's probably removed from the GGJ site itself.

Could you let me know once you upload it?

I really like the details and how you cleverly designed the environment to be inter-changeable as well as the foreground.
Any plans of expanding the game?

Thanks, making smart building-blocks is a fun challaenge :]

And about the game's future...

Well, the game-mechanic was pretty cool, so there was some potential in the game. But we made this game during last years GGJ, and the group consisted out of professionals with full time jobs. So it's almost impossible to finish this project

What program do you use to create the games?

Well, this game was made with a custom build engine (by Gamehouse). In the past we used to do the same at Playlogic for most of our games, but on Fairytale Fights we used the Unreal engine (the version of around 2009). Unity is also very popular with game developers I know and used to work with. So it varies a lot. But the most important thing is to find an engine that fits your needs :]

Thanks for the response. I'm in the process of creating a 2d side scrolling game but I was planning on using Construct to build it. Would you suggest this software or another? (BTW I recently downloaded Unity, still yet to try it out.)

Well, like I said, the software should mainly fit your needs.

Most people base their choices on; price of the software, the number of platforms it supports (ps3, xbox360, etc.), the quality of tech support & available documentation, popularity with the community (if you want to hire personnel that's already familiar with the software), quality of the result and of course the user-friendliness of the software. So those are a few things to think about.

And if Construct works for you, then why not use it? :]
