Sequel to Juukou B-Fighter

From what I red in wikis, the series takes place 10 years after the Juukou B-Fighter, BUT based from what I heard from their dialogues when flashback is occurring is "5 years ago" (Go nen mai [in japanese language]).. Now I'm a bit confused, coz if it's "10 years ago", it should be "Juu nen mai"..

Anyways...
