Unlike most commenters i'll offer a true critique.
The use of the grey background paired with her dark makeup and the expression gives a feeling of remorse or regret, as if the subject has recently been exposed to some form of trauma or a moment of ecstasy that she is now unhappy with. Perhaps lost in though about her actions or the events she had just been through. the lighting highlights her hair be it blonde and bright in this photo its the first thing you look at and again the messy nature only further develops my theories. If this is truly meant to be interpreted that way i might suggest a darker lighting perhaps black and white photo.

I think the makeup and hair are intentionally messy. It's not exactly meant to be "pretty", at least not in my opinion. I think that possibly, its try to make anΒ artistic statement. Envoke a certain emotion, reveal something about the girl's personality, and such. She's a model who is creating a pieceΒ of art. The makeup and hair are supposed to be messy because if it wasn't it wouldn't make as much of an impact and I sure as hell wouldn't have clicked on the photo. Maybe I'm wrong, maybe it was supposed to be sexy and hot, if so then I apologize.
