This is such an interesting concept! As has been mentioned before, it shows real life, as well as the gap between rich and poor. That really adds so much to this photograph! I think the shot could've been even better had there been some form of contact between you and the man rolling the carpet. A glance into the camera would give the viewer that contact we so often crave for, allowing us to really look at this man. The choice for black and white is a good one, it really brings out the man from the background, really leading our eyes right to the subject. Great work!

Thank you. It would have been nice to get a glance as a variation as you mentioned, but that didnt happen! This is devotional work that this man is doing for the Golden Temple, the holiest shrine in the Sikh religion, he looked straight ahead the entire time, so I think its more fitting that we are not included

A really interesting portrait, which describes the life in India very well.
To be honest with you, I don't like the monochromatic filter at all but here it fits perfectly with the mood and context of the photograph
Also, the angle/perspective you took this from is perfect
Keep up the good work!

Thank you 🙂 I chose to make it black and white as the carpet in the foreground is red and it detracts attention from the man.

I agree with the previous comment that this is a really good piece that also has a message to deliver.
The black and white creates a strong visual contrast which enhances the contrast between the poor man and the palace like surroundings he is working in, probalbly for some very rich people.
What I also really like is the choice of perspective, it is on level with the worker but you don't see where he is coming from or going to.
Also technically it is a really good work!

This photograph is a symbol for real circumstances... here are the ones (shown) who have to work hard for the others (invisible). They are making a good job, working hard but will never meet the others, who will walk on this carpet. The world is divided. Poors and rich... workers and rulers. So that's what I can see here in a very fine made symbolism.
The photograph itself shows another contrast: the one between black and white with all the shades of grey, which are reality as well. It's very well done. Perhaps it would be interesting to put a little bit blurredness in the background.
Congrats to this interesting and well done photograph!
