And here I thought the close up was amazing! The overall design and execution of this painting is incredible. The painting technique looks very vintage. Even though it is paint in kind of reminds me of chalk or maybe colored, powered pigments on a papyrus. The addition of they hieroglyphs, really adds an authentic feel to the work. If I'm not mistaken it looks like Thoth is toting an assault rifle, lol! It's a cool addition that gives it a sci-fi feel ala "Stargate!" The various colors add amazing depth and shadowing to the painting. A very well done piece of art that is enjoyable to view over and over again!

Thoth 2K
There's intelligence, and then there's wisdom.
But you're not a fool, you're not a victim.
These two fellows, a twisted pair,
They're bound in hope, do not despair.
Around six-thousand years ago,
I gave you symbols, let you grow.
Hairless monkeys spinning cloth,
Know you now, my name is Thoth.
I married sign, I married sound.
You took the gift, it was unbound.
The symbols grew, became profound.
They traveled far, should I expound?
And in this pattern recognition:
Intelligence, and true cognition.
Beginning with Osiris,
I taught him resurrection.
When Jesus Christ was aimless,
I taught him persecution.
Wisdom, that.
But now it's different,
It's two-thousand.
This humble merchant,
Brings more than bargained.
I'm coming back for you, Osiris.
And I'm not bringing language.
