To be honest, I always loved L4Ds style of "No hope left", Only thing I can complain is that it never truly made me feel I was in a zombie apocalypse, more like a was being chased by man eating Mutants with super powers.

the dynamic lighting made my computer lag REAL bad, so I had
to cut some corners.

Yeah man dynamic lighting will do that! The overall great shot mows over whatever laziness you may experience out there. And that's like, totally reasonable on top of that. My computer would probably do the same should I attempt something like that.
