This is a Gausian gun or magnetic pistol. it fires small steel bearings at high speeds with the help of a pair of neodymium magnets. Large magnets can have hundreds of pounds of push/pull force and can easily break fingers! These little ones are to weak to do any major harm, but they do pinch you hard enough to leve red welts! Basically the magnets attract the steel bearings. So if you pile up a bunch of them on one end (I did four) it will hold on to them in a line. Then you take another bearing and set it close to the other end of the magnets and let it go. The magnets will pull it in with such massive force. When the bearing strikes the magnets, the force is transfered through the other bearings and the one at the end flies off. this one can go ten feet on a single strike....it even recoils like a real gun! It takes seconds to make and only cost me five dollars!
