Biography:

Corius was born and bred for battle, as any Cadian hive worlder would be. His entire childhood was a troubled one. His parents were part of a lower hive syndicate. His military academy was filled with some of the most violent teenagers in his planetary sector. His previous sergeants before he earned his tanker position all threatened to make him a 'public example' if he could not remember the combat specs of a Lemun Russ battle tank. Corius has had it rough, but he still came up on top where most cadets would fall flat and be crushed by those who climbed over them. He earned every part of his reputation in the Guard as honorably and honestly as possible, despite the temptations of taking that 'other' route to get to where he wanted to be, a proud soldier of the Imperium. That did not mean he could avoid 'all' of the tussles and vendetta streaks of jealous, envious and plain stupid rivals. He had his run with breaking noses and getting his messed over as well.

None of that mattered once the 43rd Armored rolled out to war, now a Sergeant with decent skill and a driver of a Lemun Russ Exterminator. All of his rivals as he could count died in combat, some silently, some horribly, and some were executed by commisars on charges of cowardice. Only a larger handful like Corius stayed strong in his platoon back then and barely survived thier first campaign. He earned his right as a tank gunner in a Lemun Russ Mars Alpha Battle Tank afterward. Within months, when his surperior officer was killed in his tank during a subsequent campaign in Ork territory, he assumed leadership as the next in the chain of command and aided his company in driving back the rampaging Orks. All the while, his tank was immobilized, its tracks blown out, a sitting duck for anti tank ordnance, yet he made sure that he and the surviving crew lasted until their last spent tank shell ejected from the 200 mm chamber. The scene of the aftermath shocked the scouts who found them, a lone, badly damanged tank in the middle of much carnage and viscera, with every member of the tank crew gravely wounded but alive.

After recovering from his wounds, he became the new commander of his tank, with a new gunner to replace his old position, until a new higher ranking soldier could be found to replace the empty officer position. After his third campaign, company command saw no more need to fill the void, as Corius had proved his mettle as a highly talented tank commander from the start, earning him the right of promotion to Lieutenant. He was then transferred to 9th Company, 1st Squadron after he turned 28.

Diggs, Stephan, Hodgers, Lambda and Hyde. He got to know his new tank, the legendary 'Glorious Valor' and its crew fairly quickly. They were a fresh mix from various companies, an odd collection of replacements for the last crew who suffered horrible deaths within the bowels of the ancient war machine. In their first battle against Chaos insurgents, many had doubts that they would survive the first wave. Time and again, the 'Glorius Valor' proved them wrong and they lasted a good 10 years of frontline service.

Now faced with the old enemy once more, Corius and his crew knew the drill. Thier combat experiance in multiple kinds of battlefields had given them the edge, having seen much and surviving much more. As the first to roll out into the front, with the hundreds of thousands of the Imperium's best war machines rumbling close behind them, it would be one more fight till the last. Losing was not an option. There can only be total victory.

The 9th Armored Company (Gold Company), 1st Platoon, 1st Squadron

1: Leman Russ Battle Tank 'Glorious Valor' (Command Tank), Lieutenant Corius Teron

The legendary lead tank of 1st squadron. Lt. Teron commands the 'Glorious Valor', a long lived and ancient battle tank that has survived many battlefields despite it being critically damaged at least twice, with its crews replaced at least thrice. Other tankers believe the tank as blessed by the Emperor for having such a lucky streak, or that the Machine Spirit within did not see its previous crews as worthy of its indomitable power. As the fourth crew to man the covetted war machine for almost a decade, tank commander Lt. Teron, driver Sgt. Diggs, gunner Sgt. Stephan, loader Corporal Hodgers, sponson gunner Corporals Lambda and Hyde, had long exceeded thier survivability expectations, participating in many successful campaigns before Marius VII. Each highly experianced crewmember has thier own unique history, and they bonded in the teamwork that keeps themselves and their tank alive from the moment they were put together. Easily one of the most veteran tank crews in the company; thus the privilege of leading the honored 1st squadron.

2: Leman Russ Battle Tank 'Pride of Valhala', Sergeant Franco Arko

Sgt Arko and the 'Pride of Valhalla' are new to the squadron, only recently being assigned as a replacement for a lost tank. In the past, Arko was known as an ace in the 14th Armored Regiment, a gruff and jolly man who had lived to his age by his wits and his skill in commanding a tank. The commisars do not like him for his lack of decorum in keeping a beard, no matter how neat, and he is often on unsteady ground when it comes to dealing with commisars. He still shows the proper respect to rank and is fiercely loyal to his comrades.

3: Leman Russ Exterminator 'Last Courage', Sergeant Jeriah Marx

Sgt Marx and the 'Last Courage' makes for the most decorated in 1st squadron. The tank commander has five distinct decorations he proudly displays on his uniform. A calm and disciplined tanker from a semi upper class family, he is a rising star in the command structure of the company, seen as reliable, unquestioning and dedicated, as any proud Guardsman should be, the typical model soldier. Coupled with his incredible intelligence, he is fast on his way to Lt. promotion and his designation to the 1st was earned well with his exceptional performance in battle. He has a problem socializing with members of the lower class hive worlds and is more comfortable dealing with officers than regular guardsman.

4: Leman Russ Vanquisher 'Supreme Justice', Sergeant Lance Kraler

Sgt. Kraler is seen as a prodigy but he has been through a lot more than any would let on. Clearly the most disturbed of all the tank commanders in 1st squadron, he is socially silent, highly efficient and strangely cool headed. The reason behind his condition was due to his surviving a previous ordeal, when he witnessed a daemon peel open his previously assigned tank and literally consume all of his crew members right before him. Nobody knows how he survived such a close encounter and his actions have been under much scrutiny by the Inquisition for a while now, but the fact remained that he has become particularly merciless, zealously pious and dutiful to the letter with 'Surpreme Justice' in his command. His actions in 1st Squadron were more than enough to convince the commisars that he was still highly efficient and combat effective.

5: Leman Russ Eradicator 'Solemn Oath', Sergeant Collon Lefray

Sgt. Lefray, youngest and most socially active in the squadron, has a reputation for being the platoon's regulated playboy, always in the company of female medicae staff or some local when off duty. As such, dodging the icy gaze of the commisars and his superiors had become something like art for him, a great actor born from various on and off relationships. A handsome and prideful man, he is normally tolerated by the skillful way he commands the crew of 'Solemn Oath' and his abilities in 'morale support'. Always out to look after the other tankers like himself, no matter how grim the situation.

very nice you gave me an idea for making a character profile for a guy never thought of doing that. good job like the did a bunch of awesome stuff but is still normal not. hes deffently a regular human not a cookie cutter hero.

I like your way of thinking, ordinary but heroic, that my friend is what makes a character interesting. Space Marines are neat, but its the ordinary everyday Joe in a foxhole with a lasrifle facing down an army of heritics that I wanna read about. Way more relatable. Good work

Very nicely planned personality and storyline of each character. I think the length is alright at the moment.

Its a bit old now and its very much discontinued until further notice. I guess the crew will have to be gathering cobwebs for a long time over.
