Description
What to say about the legendary Escudo?Infamous for being far and away the best car in Gran Turismo 2. You can beat all your mates with it, but they'll probably hate you.
In real life, it holds the record for being the quickest up the Pikes Peak "Race to the Sky" hillclimb- an awesome race where the cars aren't restricted by namby things like "regulations". What is most bizarre is that the car it's (loosely) based on is a "hairdressers'" 4x4. Noone in their right mind is going to say "damn that Escudo is hella fast- i want to buy a Vitara". Lunacy.
Biro. Copied a picture on the interweb. Used colour sampling from it to colour it in.

I don't think it's really designed for top speed on the flat. It has huge power to climb hills quickly. Presumably it's set up for loads of downforce - take off the wing and it will probably go quicker in a straight line.
But yes, it is indeed the shit.

Me too. But it probably has crappy fuel conumption, and the rear visibility isn't hot either. Must be awesome for picking up hot babes though.

Nice action here. Always loved the huge wing on the back of that thing. And I like rich colors.

Thanks. The Escudo rocks. I have a very high opinion of it based mostly on Gran Turismo. I'm sure I'd still think it awesome were it not for GT though. Thanks for the fav.

The Escudo is a legend. And Pike's Peak is fakking insane. Whoever does that is got to be nuts.
Good drawing man.

Good God the Escudo was always a beast. Useful in GT 2 since you could do some endurance races by taping down the accelerate and tape the steering to go slightly right and the Escudo would win while you walk off. Hooray for the beast.
Though when it came to the rally driving I prefered not to use it. It's just too good and you can win by just accelerating. I like winning in those races on skill. Could get through most with a Lancer. Just a beefed up normal model and the CP couldn't keep up

*FREAKIN' SPASM* I watched that bastard race up the mountain tonight, almost fucking shat myself watching the Subie tailing him just slow down and die. I cried. D:
I'm so doing that race one day since it's just down the fucking ROAD (and on the other island) Even though I'll get beaten up with a sledgehammer by Monster.

The scooby is like the Rocky to the Escudo's Clubber Lang or Ivan Drago. Just needs to do some training.
I read that Ericksson's Scooby beat the Monster on the flat race, but horsepower matters a lot more on a hillclimb, and the Escudo's got loads of that.
I couldn't find stats on Ericksson's car, but it is a "hillclimb special", so must have a decent powerplant. I has initially thought it was WRC spec, which is quite heavily limited, but it's not. Apparently he'll be back next year with a car that can do the job. I'm guessing that'll be an Impreza again, but with a beefed up engine.
Before it broke down, was it keeping up with the Escudo?
I wish you luck with the rally driving. I'm guessing in NZ there are plenty of relatively trafficless dirt tracks to practice on. Do you have rally clubs or something?

Unfortunately if it's not yacht racing, V8's, Rugby, Netball or Cricket, it doesn't get featured in NZ. Rally is only on at
fucking stupid times when no one is watching because that's the only time it gets aside from the aforementioned sports...the
thing that sucks the most about this godforsaken country. If you're not Tana Umanga then you don't get any recognition. So
yes, I caught the last 15 minutes of that doco. x___x
Plus, it's bloody damn hard to find any info or ANYTHING about NZ Rally because again, it's not popular...the only place I
know of other than Pike's Peak is the Maramarua Forest where there's a Rally school (which Ima go to one day but it's half a
month's pay for TWO DAYS), and of course fart-town (Rotorua, which smells of fart and eggs cuz it's thermal). Buh. x____x
From what I saw, when the Subie broke down he was pretty much on Monster's fucking tail...you could see his dust cloud not
too far up ahead...they thought he might even catch him. But no, the poor dear slowed down and STOPPED v____v;; (Now
how does that remind you of Solberg's final run in Japan last year?) That's the thing about Subies, is they're phenomenal cars
to be FEARED but push them that little bit too hard and they turn into an expensive oily mess and make the strongest of men
cry. They're bitches like that. Dragsters tend to encase the engines in steel to stop them from freaking out and melting.
My Subie...I would check out every thing that could go wrong and replace it with higher performance gear...as in, freakin'
EVERYTHING XD I would want to start with a Spec C shell and build it up from there to make a practically indestructable
Subaru because that's what ends most Subaru runs...something dies. They seem to either win or explode, our dear Imprezas.
D: Though the WRC's tend to hold out well...despite their limitations -___-; I think it's just a matter of being thorough and going for the best quality and reliability money can buy, not second best. Overlooking something means the end with Subies as I've discovered. (CHEAP WIPER BLADES! Stupid things have died and leave water scars all over my windscreen -____-)
Man. All I need to do is win a few million and I'll be on my way to Rally w00tness...
