I've always liked ole Snivels, despite his very very VERY bad decisions, and this scene certainly made my heart go out to him. He is possibly one of the only Archie characters to have so much potential, and yet he (and the writers) squander it.

I agree, I think Snively has a lot of potential. Maybe Archie will be kind and give Snively his own Arc in Sonic Universe. Its the least they can do.

If only, right? I mean, if you think about it, he can be a major source of humor or the most evil villain ever. He DID kill Robotnik when no one else could (all by himself i may add).
Though i'd prefer he be an anti-hero, i really don't know how that's gonna happen since he's all about "He who fights and runs away can run away another day" sort of guy.

Absolutely. He could defiantly be a anti-hero or a reluctant ally to the freedom fighters. I thought it was kind of cool that he was part of the team at one time. Help the freedom fighters beat Eggman while plotting to take over at the same time. Plain and simple.
They sort of did that with the Iron Dominion Arc but, in the end Snively was reduced to a plaything for the Iron Queen and ended up crawling back to Eggman again.

I really hated how that arc turned out. I had such high hopes for Snively. The poor guy. I also never liked Regina for that matter, solely because i saw right through her from the beginning. The temptress. hehe.
Though... i don't know if Archie would ever do this, i think it would ironic if Snively ended up in a relationship with a Mobian. If anything he needs a woman to help straighten him out. Maybe if he had something worth fighting for he wouldn't be the weasly character we know (and love).
I even have one female in mind for him.

I mean... uh, no. No, of course not.
I can just feel the Sally/Sonic fans ripping me to shreds. But i've given this crack couple some thought. I mean, if you think about it, Sal and Sniv have plenty in common, just on opposite spectrum's. (World on their shoulders, resourceful, daddy issues)
And besides, you know they would be able to keep each other mentally stimulated. i can see late nights playing chess with one another with them both falling asleep in upright positions - only to wake up the next morning with Snively rearranging some pieces
Well that last bit was just adorable. Snively would definetely cheat, you know bad guy and all.
And no, I don't reside in your head...at least I don't think so. I just always liked the idea of Snively/Sally too. Opposite do attract like you said. 
I hope Sonic/Sally fans never read this. They can be very scary.

Yeah, but that's how i'd see that relationship playing out. Sonic seems to get on Sally's nerves more or less, so why not give the lackey a shot? He certainly deserves THAT much. Both of each others morals might get in the way, but loves about compromises.
Now that you've got me thinking... a plot bunny is starting to fester. I think i will go sketch something Sniv/Sally related.
