I'm gonna be completely honest here: this is one of the best Werner fanart drawings I've ever seen. I mean, he's so PERFECTLY on-model! I've noticed that when most people draw this guy (myself included), they either tweak the style or they TRY to draw him as accurately as possible, only for the proportions to be slightly askew. But this is just dead-on accurate, and I love how you've gotten him to look so cute while remaining faithful to his original design. (Sorry that was a bit long-winded, I'm just genuinely impressed.Β )Β

And yes, as you've seen, I stride to replicate the style of the 1930's as accurately as possible. Although there are times where I grow wary of my ability to do so, it's comments like your's that help reassures me, that I'm sure to be doing something right! So from what I gather by reading this and the description in your Werner Werman drawing, would you want to learn how to draw him, in his original fashion? If so, I would love to pass on my teachings to an eager artist, especially after showing me such a kindness! Yeah, I find the 1930s style is kind of deceivingly tricky to pull off. That colored Werner picture on my page is actually one of my first attempts at drawing the dude, and eh, it's not a favorite of mine. I've been practicing him a bunch lately (because you know, social distancing, got nothing better to do than draw a cartoon rat lol), and I'm getting better with him. Hopefully I'll get some more art up here soon! I don't even know if I'm trying to replicate him perfectly, or if I'm just trying to get him to a stage that I like... (probably the latter)Β Β But in any case, I'm always open to constructive criticism, so if you have any tips, feel free to leave them!
