Description
This is a very old practice/study piece I made for myself when I was a kid, partially inspired by Crono Trigger and other older SNES games. All of the angles shown are "perfect" angles, that is, easy to draw pixel patterns used in tons of video games. In Crono Trigger there is an area that some friends of mine had thought was one giant pre-rendered piece, but it was actually made up of tiles like the ones shown here.
The spinning cube interesting in several ways. I hadn't made many animations before, and I wanted to get an idea of how smoothly something would rotate when drawn using perfect angles. I also made a different cube from a computer generated and rotated square and noted where my hand drawn (and jumpy) animation differed from the computer made one.
