How DO you do dem blurd effects?

I used blood splatter brushes with low brush opacity and assigned a made up style I made up to the layer to make the blood clash with the drawing's colors. As for the gore I just painted it there, used the burn and dodge tool and added some blood splatter on op of it

wow the way you colored it looks like you did it in pastels. I know that you didn't but it must be the filters you used.

No I didn't use filters in this one. I scanned a traditional drawing and used the multiply mode on the layers to color over it.

Thanks, the gore I used the smudge tool, burn, and dodge. As for the blood I had the brush in low opacity and used blood splatter brushes along with the smudge tool.

Yeah the brush opacity is a big part when it comes to how I shade along with brush mode. I forgot I used a custom made style too in order to make the blood clash with the colors also
