It just occured to me, I think and beleive that the Battle rifle of Halo 2 was originally based off the FAMAS 12 french assault rifle of today.After an hour of manipulating and pasting, I got a battle rifle from the FAMAS, I saw the resemblance, and it looked so.. so... uncanny

Kind of like a mix between the AUG and the FAMAS... and I guess it very well could be, seeing as in the halo univers all countries have joined together, so a mix between two guns, even from differnt countries, would be possible...
The halo 3 br is even more similar, so much so that the br could be passed off as a future, scoped version of the famas for sure

im surprised no one mentioned the XM8 yet. If the BR wasn't a bullpup and had a retractable stock, they'd look almost identical at first glance.

Nice reference. It also could be taken as a mix between the H&K G36 and the Steyr Advanced Combat Rifle. But still nice Job!

Well, it could have been the FAMAS and G36 put together. But the Bullpup feature of the FAMAS made it look similar. But the Steyr has not grip along the dorsel of the rifle.

The Steyr was a failed weapon made in the 1980's to replace the M16.

yeah, well its been kinda found that bungie steals ideas from other people alot. the halo was made in the book ringworld. in halo 3 the spike grenade is an uncanny copy of the explosive bruce willis used in the movie "the fifth element"...
