Ok, I got the numbers way off on the others. This one is 15 though. It's the one that I drew all the interior art for, and not very well. I'm not Bruce Timm.Anway, it was fun coming up with these covers. Trying to illustrate a whole story in one image can be very challenging. this issue featured Freeze and Nora finally getting back together, only to have Batman screw it all up. Thanks a lot Bat brain!

of all the batman villains - i love Mr Freeze.
since i sympathize with his desire to bring back his wife from the dead...its weirdly romantic..

I can't remember. I make layers and then flatten it as I go, saving different versions just to be safe.

My favorite Freeze story is still "Heart of Ice" by Bruce Timm. I almost cried.

In my mind Mr Freeze really went downhill after "Sub Zero". The movie was an appropriate closing for him, almost everything done after that was weak. However, If I recall correctly, there was a Mr Freeze story drawn by Rick Burchett, whose art I cherished (not quite as much as Ty Templeton's, but the two are greats in their own right), and for that alone I liked it... it even seemed to have gotten Freeze's abysmal character twist from the new Batman Adventures season back on track again. So I was really looking forward to THIS issue, but for me it was a letdown. I don't recall the quality of the coloring, but I do recall not liking it for the story, not because of your art.
And I absolutely agree on "Heart Of Ice". I don't think 20 minutes of TV animation have ever had a greater emotional impact on me.

I still love Mr. Freeze from the old animated series, one of my faves from the series 2nd to The Joker only.

Most of the time I don't sign my stuff. I like the image to stand on it's own. Long gone are the days when artist filled up half the page with the signatures. That always annoyed me.

There was a glass cover to a cake holder(plate or what ever) in the studio and I took some photos of it and just tried to mimic it the best I could.
It's on a seperate layer from his face for one thing. I would never attempt anything like that without protecting the other stuff. That would be crazy. There's some regular airbrushing and some on lighten, and then a few hit with the Color Dodge air brush tool. That reall makes things pop.
