I keep hearing about the benefits of working in sketchup for cityscapes and other background elements but alas I have yet to download the program.

Sketchup rocks, but honestly you end up getting tired of all the work building evironments. Actually it's helpful in that your brain starts to see the perspective and you end up drawing it from scratch better than before. I'm very lazy and now I don't even use a ruler.
