Rob tiptoed back into the house, casting furtive glances over the shoulder in case he was being followed. He slunk his way to the kitchen, gaze darting back and forth between the two containers of cake.

His stomach gurgled insistently at the thought of those scrumptious confections.

“I really shouldn’t,” he said. “But they just look soooooo good!”

He popped open the lid on the first container and tried to take a big sniff. Unfortunately, the cold he’d pick up earlier that week had left his nose completely stuffed up. Try as he might, he couldn’t manage to catch even a whiff of the concoction.

“Maybe just a little taste…”

“Robbie, no!” A tiny, ephemeral version of Tulip poofed into being on his left shoulder. She wore a sparkling gown of the purest white, and her normal wings had been replaced by feathery versions. She even had a tiny halo balanced on the tips of her horns!

So here's an excerpt from a birthday story written by my awesome friend and I couldn't resist drawing this scene in particular! Wanna read the whole story! Here it is Rob's Birthday Surprise. Or: A CAKE TO DIE FOR!The egg timer let off a loud DING. Hopping up from the couch, Chinook made her way into the kitchen. Her lips quirked up in a smile as she caught the succulent aroma wafting from the oven. Donning her mitts, the antelope carefully removed her masterpiece: A triple-layered fudge and brownie cake.
Now for the frosting. Setting the hot pan down onto the burners, Chinook retrieved a large bowl from the fridge. She looked back and forth between it and the cake, pondering exactly how much she ought to add.
“Well, better safe than sorry!” As she spread more and more frosting over the cake, she couldn’t help but giggle to herself. Robbie was going to just adore this cake. It had taken days of the sneakiest investigation, the subtlest prodding, but she had finally learned the kind of dessert he craved above all others. Chocolate, chocolate and more chocolate! And she was going to make sure he got all that he co I highly recommend reading it!!! And enjoy!!!
