Thanks for the welcome!
I like reading the journalism stuff and looking at fashion photography. I'd like to take pictures for my blog so I'm trying to see what makes a photo "ok" and what makes it "Vogue worthy".
PS. Don't be so modest

You are welcome for the welcome
Do you work in journalism or what do you do with yourself? I don't know much about photography myself at the moment, but when i get a nice camera i will try doing a photography course i hope.
There are so many excellent photographers on here im sure you will get lots of help
PS. I'll try not to be modest then hehe

I work in a shop to pay the bills, and write in my spare time - but at parties I say I'm a journalist. Writing is mainly a hobby but at the moment I'm gathering ideas for a book so I might be able to make a living out of it.
I know sod all about photography, even though my ex was a photographer and tried to tell me about it. The most annoying bit about it so far is trying to take photographs of yourself with the whole putting it on a tripod, setting the timer jazz. I might just invite a mate over and ask them to do it.

What shop do you work in if i may ask? Im a telemetry technician for Northern Ireland Water. It's so hard to explain so ill just say its specialised IT mumbo jumbo stuff
I like reading other peoples writings, will have to see some of yours sometime It frustrates me because i have stories to tell but a total block and inability to get them out of my head in any form other than primary school story telling time
I must say i hate pics of me and people taking pics of me so i dont have your problem there Girls are more photogenic anyway so ill let you work away hehe

Boots. Even though I don't wear make-up every day, I still like to be around it. Woman thing.
Are you interested in fashion? Lol, my online stuff is mainly aimed at young women. I got an idea for a book today which I think you'll be *very* interested in, though...
Blocks suck. I get them for every creative activity I

IT DID IT AGAIN.
It's these false nails. They make me press the wrong button all the time lol.
Anyway: I get a lot of blocks for every creative activity I enjoy. A nice walk can really do the trick (like if you're writing a story set in the woods, go to the woods), or just sitting back and letting the events of your life inspire you, or just doing basic creative excercises like listing things that make you happy/sad/excited... stuff like that.
I don't mind being photographed for the blog because of the sunglasses. They cover up the messy bits

hehe your nails must be pretty long, ugh so hard to type i would imagine, i couldnt handle it! thank god im not a girl
Im into fashion in the sense i like to wear nice things and look respectable but not to the extent ill buy magazines or check out the new summer collection from wotsherface in wheredoyamicallit.
What idea did you get for the book, im intrigues now that you think ill be very interested in it
Ah ditch the glasses, let everyone see you

yup, they're pretty damn long. I'm an amazingly slower typer now but I'm gradually getting used to it. The only time they REALLY irritate me is when I'm changing into my PJs and can't undo the button on my jeans...
That sounds nice. What sort of things do you wear?
I don't want to tell you here, someone might nick it but it's definetly up your street.
Umm. No. Lol I don't want to be judged by my face, I want to be judged by my sense of style.

Oh sorry hehe i didnt mean for people to judge you by your face. Im sure your sense of style will be judged indeed by many people. So many judges around
Yeah i could imagine nails being annoying doing lots of things like scratching your eye or texting on the phone
Erm i dunno how to describe what i wear other than normal, River Island, Topman sort of things. Im a bit scruffy these days though. Im slacking and need a woman to keep me on track hehe.
Im intrigued to know what you think will be right up my street!!!!

Oh God I know. Sometimes I wonder if I know enough about fashion to write about it - but the blog is more about developing your own sense of style that mixes with current trends instead of just copying what you see.
Texting, typing, doing the buttons on clothes, opening things, taking stickers off new shoes, fastening that little gizmo on necklaces is all suddenly a nightmare... oh the things I do for this blog!
One to date, or just a general fashion guru to clean out your wardrobe? Either way, Ireland's a big place, they'll be one somewhere.
Haha, I'll let you know another way...

Ah im sure you know enough about fashion and you will only learn more with experience writing about it too
Developing an individual sense of style would be great if people did it and werent bothered by people judging them on it. But i, for one am, i suppose, caught in the same zone as everyone else where we buy what we see in shops and therefore end up looking the same. But i care more about who i am than what i look like so i dont mind really.
One to date who will be my guru and keep me looking smart irelands big enough indeed and someone somewhere is bound to sort me out
I was going to suggest private note or someother means but you already got there

That's true - but hey, my insecurity is a great excuse to buy Vogue every month
There is an amazing amount of pressure these days to be either perfect, or normal. I'm not sure which high streets shops aim for - the clothes are normal, the models on their posters are perfect...
You're completley right though: it is about who you are - but I still like makeovers, just for fun!
Go hunting, you'll find her eventually.

Aww dont be insecure (easier said than done- i know personally) and you certainly shouldnt feel pressured by silly models on the pictures because sure they dont even look like that anyways, sure you know what photoshop can do for a pic
Yeah i can understand you liking makeovers because its fun to dabble in different styles
To be honest I'll not be hunting for her best to just let it happen
