Description
This story was motivated by the frustration i felt working on a job in which creativity was out of place. And most of the conversations with coworkers had this phrase on them: "it's almost impossible to get to work in what you love". But i kept working on my portfolio and now i'm working as 2d animator. After all of what happened, i know that you will always reach your goals as long as you keep working to reach them.All music is appropriately copyrighted, and the use of the tracks is permitted by the author Natanel Arnson.

How did you work on your portfolio? Do you fill a sketchbook? Make a bunch of animations? Do a variety of digital art? Are there certain types of pieces you would recommend doing for a portfolio?
And where (if I may ask) are you working as a 2D animator? Was it a place you had your eye on for a while? Is it a place that's well known, or a place that had a demand for animators?

dude thats some really epic animation! I get that employers want people who work for them to get work done, but it's messed up that there's wierdos that look down on someone for doing something creative. Like seriously, what's their problem?

I feel your pain, just in a different way. I'm currently going into college, but unfortunately my mom wants me to do Graphic Design and Business (she said she'll let me do my art, as long as I have business underneath my belt, but alas Graphic Design doesn't interest me as much) as my majors rather than let me pursue my artistic dreams in wanting to become an animator or comic book artist. She's more concerned about me making a living than doing what I love (which I respect), but why can't I have both? I'm willing to struggle and grow with my art, since no one said it would be easy or that it had to be.
It's people like you, the ones who strive to become better and want to be what THEY want to be that are admirable and will go far with their craft. I just wish I'll be able to make it far like you (as well as manage to convince my mom to change her mind a bit). :3
