This is how I make OCs.I'm not joking.
I was at the bus stop the other day with my sketch pad. So I drew the guy next to me. He was weirded out.
HAH. Me? Weird? NEVER.
Basically if you're ever at a bus stop in Arizona or Colorado and some kid wearing a hoodie starts staring at you and drawing in his sketch book, It's me.

Don't feel bad. I do the same thing(sometimes) If I see someone cool-looking, I'll want to make an OC based around them.

I've started carrying a smaller sketch pad everywhere I go for exactly this reason. xD Funny, I live in AZ too; if you're ever drawing a scrawny redheaded girl and find she's staring and drawing back at you, we may have run into eachother!

One time my aunt was in a KFC and they ran out of chicken (wtf) and had to cook some more. They said she's have to wait 20 minutes so she got out her sketchpad and started randomly drawing stuff, and they had her order out in like 30 seconds. XDDDDDD Oh hohoho, those critics mess wif peepul's mindz.

OMG! I've done that too xD
But not for creating OC, but for practicing human poses, like sitting, standing, picking their nose, etc. xP
Oh, and also practicing how not to get caugh while watching and analyzing somebody else. Aaaah, the power of a psychologist xP

i use to do some of those in my class at college
and on my free time, i draw the person without them noticing cause i usualy dont know if they liked to be drawn or not

I have several characters that are heavily based on people I know/have seen, but I've depended on my memory to help me draw them. Your method seems a lot more efficient, if not slightly creepy.

Ahaha, that's hilarious because it's true. I do that all the time too, during my school classes. My classmates turn to each other and say stuff like, "That weird kid's drawing me AGAIN."
But usually people are curious to see how I draw them, even if they're weirded out by my intent staring during class.
