This thing sucks. This was my first attempt at using nupastels, and what do I use them on? Why, a shitty drawing of a lardass Krystal of course!I wish I knew how to color stuff (apart from watercolor) in a way that doesn't make me hate my art. >:[

Look man, I know you're trying to be helpful and all, but advising me to follow the example of shitty furry artists isn't terribly helpful. Don't get me wrong, not all of those people you mentioned are bad, but seriously, Bingfox? Are you kidding me? That guy is up there with Two-Ton-Neko and even Fatferaligatr in terms of sheer artistic shittiness.

It's alright that you don't want to mimic these artists but calling them bad shows how much ED has rot your mind. bing isn't too advanced yet I guess. and Virus-20 has found his style and perfected it to the point that it is consistent but probably hasn't tried to push himself to greater heights in artistic skill recently. Fatferaligatr was a terrible case of an artist who didn't want to change his style and learn how to do it better and was shunned for his unwillingness to change. Never compare anyone to Fatferaligatr unless they have a similar unwillingness to change. never put down an artist unless if it is to bring his or her ego back to normal. Never tell an artist they suck when art is relative.

That's putting it politely. The guy has been drawing for four years and his artwork shows only the barest modicum of improvement, assuming, of course, that he has improved at all. Even if you produce art on a casual basis, making art that pretty much all falls into a similar vein while improving only a little over the course of several years is, by my standards, an achievement in bad artwork.

Maybe he has found his style, but I would certainly not call it perfected. He has ample room to improve. As far as consistency goes, I admit that it has its advantages, but the thing is, that guy's art isn't consistent, it is downright repetitive. And that, more that anything else, aggravates the crap out of me.

I wouldn't say that I'm putting them down so much as I'm criticizing their artistic capacities. And while it's true that art is relative, that does not mean that there's no such thing as bad art.
