Ah.  Well, I'm actually in the early stages of collaborating on a story where she's a main character, and at first I was calling her Lorna, but right now it's Amanda.  I'm still not 100% satisfied with any name I've chosen, but I'm afraid my collaborator will get exasperated if I keep changing it.

It's not a bad name, but I forgot all about your suggestion until I was looking at this again recently.  I probably dismissed it out of hand when I first read your comment because I have this thing about wanting to maintain control over my characters, which includes naming them myself.  I let someone name one of my characters once and came to regret it.
