Back when I did that last pic of Lisa the babysitter with Dexter and Dee Dee in a kiddie pool [link] , I originally planned to set it on a beach, but when I was pretty well into it, I changed my mind about the setting and thought placing them in Dexter's backyard would be better for some reason. But I already had drawn and colored Dexter and Dee Dee for my original concept, so this gave me an excuse to incorporate them into a seperate drawing with Monkey and Agent Honeydew, whom I'd been wanting to do some sort of pic of for quite some time anyway.

I started off trying to draw the beach in photoshop, but my photoshop skills are pretty primitive, and it looked really flat, so then I did it in watercolors, which didn't mesh well with the digitally colored figures. So I ended up doing a lot of monkeying around with the painting (pun unintentional) in photoshop, and I guess the result is passable, although I wish I'd figured out an easier way to accomplish what I wanted.
