Been keeping an eye on a pretty sweet RP group for awhile now. Missed my oppurtunity last recruitment, so I figured I'd try this time for sure now that I have the chance to send my application for an idea for a character.
I really hope everyone likes it, he's been a pet project of mine while now. Worked on his concept every now and then between assignments and freelance design work.

Very perceptive with a gifted insight, Genbu relies on his keen eye to pick up details of suspects or crime scenes that are over looked by others.

Street Fighting:
Starting his investigator career in the Harbor city gave ol' Genbu the reflexes and smarts to execute the best choice of combat methods in the urban streets. Using his surroundings to his advantage whenever he can, he's not afraid to fight dirty if it means incapacitating a dangerous perp

Gathering Info:
Throughout his years at the gumshoe game, Genbu could've wrote the book on requiring intel. Wether it be talking to his contacts from his past cases, threatening to torch some underling hides or sweet talking the record keeper down at the Metal Bender Police station; this P.I. will get to the down and dirty truth.

The man tugged down on the brim of his hat covering his face from the others also caught outside on the rainswept docks of Republic city. His amber orbs narrowed while they scanned the choppy wade crashing against the boats. He also gritted his teeth causing the toothpick which dangled from his bottom lip to crack gently before he got up from his perch on the dock pole.

'He'll show sooner or later .' The dark stranger assured himself, 'He better anyway. Otherwise his snitch pal and I will have to have another enlightened chat.'
This was typical mind wandering on Genbu's stake outs, especially if those stake outs bring him to dreadful places in horrid weather such as the one he was on this evening. He had been on a case for a little over a week now, it wasn't anything glourious like dealing with the Triple Threat Triad. Not this week anyway, the gumshoe's fist was still sore from cracking a goon's nose the last time he tangled with the gang. No, He was tracking down a small time counterfeiting ring which had slipped into the shady underground far beneath the Metalbending Police Force's noses.

He shook his head, removing his toothpick and placed it behind his ear to allow a small spurt of fire from his mouth. It lit up his sharp features for a moment and brought warmth to his hands in the frozen rain which had been pelting him. Before Genbu could let out an annoyed sigh, he heard a shuffling beyond a pile of crates outside a shipping warehouse. Genbu returned the pick to his lips and headed towards the noises, a small orb of flames coming to life in his palm.
"Time to get to work" The detective said, more to himself then to the scumbags he was about to get in a scuffle with...

Additional Info

- Runs his own P.I. firm above a family owned ran dry cleaning shop (which is done with water bending with steam and machinery flatten the garbs )

- Genbu is really rough around the edges, but some folk get pass his fiery shell and see a mellow, kinder side of the detective.

- Its hard for Genbu to turn the "open case" switch off at times, rarely takes a night off in the chaotic times in Republic City.

-Though they aren't many people the detective can call friend, Genbu tends to respect some of his contacts, always checking in on them between cases especially if they have been through something awful in their past and he can relate to them.

-Though he would never admit it, Genbu has a soft spot for kids and dames. He'll usually work pro bono if the kid or lady are sweet enough and down on their luck.

- On his upper right arm sprawling to his shoulder blade and base of his neck lays a tattoo of a family of black tortoises underneath a japanese maple tree, leaves blowing in the wind. Whenever it is asked about, he prefers not to discuss the reasoning/meaning.

- Though not a spiritual person, the detective is never seen without a set of prayer beads around his wrist. Much like the tattoo on his back, Genbu usually isn't willing to discuss it.

-When a case goes awry, either the crook gets away/off the hook or an innocent bystander is harmed; Genbu can usually be found deep in a bottle of whisky or other heavy spirits.
