Description
dA was wonky yesterday, so I wasn't able to get this uploaded right away. But this is the art for my entry for the Megaman 10 Box Art Contest. It was a little rushed...I only started it last week...but at least I made deadline.I wanted to go with the American flavor using the horizontal NES box, so I tried to mimic the usual US boxart that has Mega fighting some random minor enemy, with a boss ready to attack as well. Since Sheep Man seems to be the most memorable and talked about Robot Master, I felt he was the most worthy of being the cover boss. I wanted to throw a couple others on there, but felt it would just clutter things up too much. So it's more similar to the MM5 cover than anything else.
In sticking with that American flavor, I wanted to try a Ruby-Spears style. Kinda fun to draw Sheep with bulging muscles.
"SHEEP MAN! So I herd you know something about the Roboenza cure. Take this, you baaaaaaad bucket of bolts!!"
...am I finally done with Megaman 10 contests yet...?
Mega Man, Sheep Man, Rush, and stage enemies are all Copyright Capcom

Except for Air Man, I believe the MM2 bots were pretty close to their original designs. I guess some games are luckier than others.
Hornet Man would totally get Zorak's voice.
Frost Man: I'll make a popsicle out of you!
Chill Man: >_>

Yeah, Wood was probably the only other one that seemed slightly off. Like having a giant metal leaf that was more like a fan than a shield. Metal's only big change was glowing red eyes.
Oh great, now you've got me imagining Jewel Man with Brak's voice! Look ma, I'm all fabuuulus!

It's like... Old meets New!
Also, I don't think Mets and Suzys ever made it onto box art!

Some Mets have. Moreso on the Gameboy and the Japanese covers. But with so many different kinds of Mets, they can keep showing up!
Thanks!

As I said in my comments, I figured they'd make it so he looked to have an actual human face. After all, they gave Toad Man a mouth. So I thought actual flesh tones made more sense in a Ruby-Spears way.

No public voting on this one. Three winners are going to be picked by a Japanese site called Niconico Seiga, Capcom of Japan, and Capcom Unity. Although the winner of Unity's judging has the best prizes, including the E-Tank pillow.
