dA was wonky yesterday, so I wasn't able to get this uploaded right away. But this is the art for my entry for the Megaman 10 Box Art Contest. It was a little rushed...I only started it last week...but at least I made deadline.I wanted to go with the American flavor using the horizontal NES box, so I tried to mimic the usual US boxart that has Mega fighting some random minor enemy, with a boss ready to attack as well. Since Sheep Man seems to be the most memorable and talked about Robot Master, I felt he was the most worthy of being the cover boss. I wanted to throw a couple others on there, but felt it would just clutter things up too much. So it's more similar to the MM5 cover than anything else.
In sticking with that American flavor, I wanted to try a Ruby-Spears style. Kinda fun to draw Sheep with bulging muscles.
Otherwise, his design wasn't too difficult to alter slightly. I figured the cartoon would give him a more human face, rather than the shadowy black, nothing-but-eyeballs face. Since he is an animal boss, I figured he'd have a mouth like R-S Snake Man's. "SHEEP MAN! So I herd you know something about the Roboenza cure. Take this, you baaaaaaad bucket of bolts!!"
...am I finally done with Megaman 10 contests yet...?

You're style is definitely unique and you've got some pretty interesting pieces up. I think you do a nice job illustrating motion; there's a nice curve appeal with a lot of your stuff. That probably stands out most to me.

Sure, they were weird, but some of them you just had to love with how unique and odd they were. But yeah, I would have loved to see just one box with R-S Mega and crew on it.

Lame lines and cheesy acting still bring a smile to my face today. And sometimes it's awesome to hear jokes years later and finally just get them, because sometimes as a kid they go over your head. Freakazoid was another great example in my case.

Thanks. Hard to gauge the competition right now, because I can't view the Japanese entries without a Niconico account, and I haven't seen hardly any entries pop up on the US side. But who knows, maybe I'll have more of a shot this time around.

I have a NicoNico account. I managed to set one up using the Spanish version of the site plus a google translater as Spanish is a bit more accurately translated than Japanese. If you really want an account and don't know a word in another language I think the method I used can help. (Then again I did take a class in Spanish)

Probably not much use for it though, that it's no biggy. They'll probably put up a bunch of the best on a page after judging is done.

Have a direct link for the entries? I only use the account for looking at silly videos that will most likely never get taken by a YT uploader without permission.
Like YT, there is very few gems amount the videos so yeah you are not missing that much. For the MM animations alone, do you know how many MM2 related stuff there are? I've seen some Snake and Toad stuff (someday The Grazing will catch on) and nearly every Splash Woman related video is her being shipped with Bubble Man (why is there barely PirateXSplash shipping? Come on a mermaid and a pirate trying to get along is hilarious, but at least some artists over at Tegakiland think the same way I do. And to make this parenthesis even longer guess what out Tegaki friends are shipping Chill Man with. Jgonzo is gonna be so sad when he hears it isn't Pump Man).

I can see the pics. Hmmm.. I can say is that the best looking of the entries are "cartoony" like unlike like the weekly RM contest and colab were there was some realistic looking art. But cartoony as what you would see on very high quality cartoons/anime. Very crisp looking. Around 2 decided to go for the Americanize boxarts....
Oh wait, I found how to turn the page here. Nevermind. I see more realistic stuff as well. Wow even CG are that looks like an FMV from the PS1 days.
Oh dear, an entry here is treating E tanks like alcoholic beverages or something and all the characters are trying to spray into each others' mouths and Dr. Light is running into his lab being upset about it.

I notice the newest contest is using a panel of judges despite being inspired by the weekly RM contest. Looks like Jgonzo and co is fed up with all the drama and behind the scene stuff from the voting.

I wish this show was revived if only to see how they would design the MM9 and 10 bots.
Characterization would include making Chill Man act like a character from Captain Planet but in extreme because he is EVIIIILLLLLL.
