A beautiful Akko with a rare calm and composed face, really nice 
Akko's not a genius. Not at all. It's not uncommon for anime protagonists to be a brick-head, but honestly I've always found that a lot of anime (and manga) can't really do the "dumb but awesome" thing... in the long run they kind of get on my nerves, especially when they suddendly magically wisen up only in the moments required for plot stuffs. And that's why I think studio Trigger did a incredible work in makingΒ
Akko's character.
It's not like she's demented, let's be clear, but she can be incredibly stone-headed and goofy, and still she manages to be super-fun and endearing. I think it's thanks to how she's scripted, and how well she works together with the other protagonists completing her: Lotte, Sucy, and probably even more Diana. She's a great counterpart to her, instead of being the usual rich snob, her levelheadedness can be very relatable. Seriously, I love Akko, but there are scenes where I was like "come on girl, Diane's got a point!", and I actually like that character chemistry: the viewer shouldn't be necessarily Always agreeing with the story protagonist.
I talked about Diana not just to advertise her character, but because the way she fills her personal lackings with the people around her is something that makes Akko damn great. I'll say something utterly impopular: - takes breath - I'd honestly punch Monkey D. Luffy's face until it becomes a Picasso, many times, to how friggin hugely imbecile he can often be (eh... often... xD), but Akko never tired or me or made me roll eyes in exhaustion. Even if (and that's one little flaw of the series IMHO) she's got what must be a medical condition she shares with Luffy, that is the "I MUST SHOUT MY LIFE LONG DREAM EVERY EPISODE stuff". Also, I think that a good part of what makes Akko a treasure to watch, is Studio Trigger unique way of animating. Seriously, she's awesome. I like to say that Akko isn't actually a anime character, she's basically a 30s bouncy animated black and white western cartoon like Micky Mouse or Felix the Cat XD (I think it's a thing people in Trigger retained from the GAINAX old times... their philosophy of looking for inspiration outside of Japan and of the anime culture niche)
