I dig the page a lot... from the villain's teeth in panel 3 to the holo'd turnaround and mid-air readouts in the bottom panel. These kinda details are top-notch man! Great job!

Good, glad to know someone else is stepping up to Gary's challenge.
Glad you like it so far.
Each backgound is a different situation but all are done in PS.
The trees and cliff faces are hand painted watercolors filtered and edited in PS.
The domus bridge is all PS line tool and gradients.

Cool. Even though it's done digitally, it shows you have a clear vision for what you want is in your head before you boot up Photoshop.
I often rough them up in pencil only to realize correcting perspective issues is trickier to do in Photoshop than I initially thought (such is the issue I'm running into now while digitally-inking my Jet Dancer comic page).

Ever try doing backgrounds and figures separately, and putting it together in PS?

My problem is as I mentioned, the vision. See, I can draw characters, but scenery is something that's always been an Achilles Heel to me. I have the skill to do it, but when it comes to exactly what I want in the bg, I have trouble thinking about it. I've tried a variety of solutions. For instance, for the alley in this [link] I designed the background with simple polygons in Sketchup and rotated it as needed, screencapped it and used it as the basis of my digital inks so as to get all the various angles and perspective right. For a small area like that, it's easy, but when dealing with more complex landscapes/cityscapes, I have trouble. A skill I am trying to develop, but am learning at a very slow pace.
Of course, I could be making it extra hard on myself by basing my stories in a metropolis in the first place. Many folks draw medieval/fantasy comics and avoid modern settings for that exact reason.

I'm sure you'll solve the background issue.
After all, we cant really do this work without them.

Thanks, Gabe!
Yeah, Gary announced it some time ago. [link]
I started mine back then, but I've been waiting for some follow through before investing time on finishing it.
I'm hoping this "sneak peek" might remind some folks we were doing this.

Thanks, Mace! If everyone else hasn't forgotten, as it seems, that we committed to this challenge, you will indeed see where it goes.
