Description
Československo do to ho! Rok 19181.Slovakia: Double cross on three hills (matra, Fatra-Tatra)
2.Czech: silver double-tailed lion.
Czechoslovak Legions in Russia, formed from volunteers who had been prisoners of war, fought against the Bolsheviks and indeed managed to occupy the entire Trans-Siberian Railway. This was recognised in the West as being something unusual – that 60,000 soldiers had managed to occupy Siberia. And somehow the Western powers began to feel that they have an obligation to the Czechoslovak cause. They became more flexible and ready to accept the idea of independence.

Just a question, have you ever heard of Slovakian coins from WW2?, just sorting a bag of really old coins and one has a picture of a place called Nitra Castle and the reverse has the double bar cross, another has this guy on it who looks like a priest - could it be occupation money?

How did you get those coins? The coins are from The (First) Slovak Republic (1939–45)

A local antique dealer was retiring and knew I collect coins so he sold me a bag of old mixed coins, copper Napoleon III centimes, Queen Victoria Shillings, King Louis-Phillippe 5 Francs, German Reichmarks with the swastikas from the 1940's etc.
There were only a few mixed in with everything else thanks for the interesting info although I wonder how they ended up in Ireland of all places, I have a few other coins from German client states during WW2 i.e. Croatia & Vichy France
