Magik must have been in the back of my head when I did that silhouette spot illo. So I decided to do a lil bit of fan art.She was always one of my favourite X-characters. Lots of people like drawing Illyana as Darkchylde, but I like her best when she was a New Mutant. So I decided no hoofs, no horns, no glowing eyes, no loincloth. Though that last one is always tempting.
I also liked the relationship arc with her big bro. I wanted to play with that idea a bit. So i went for a touch more cheerful than the usual brooding Magik type stuff.

It seems it has changed now! Still amazing how many times he got bitten before he got that the puppy was bad.
I still think she did him a service though, even if Colossus himself will not admit that for a long long time coming.

I tend to believe that Magik's attempt was misguided at best. She was so broken but Colossus was adamant in seeing her as his perfect younger sister. He could never understand what she went through so the option she can think of was make him experience what she has experienced (demonic possession). Colossus felt betrayed but I'm sure he'll come around. I think there's potential for a reconciliation and that their relationship can become stronger than before.

There is always the possibility for reconciliation and I'm sure they will see eye to eye again some day. It will just take some time.

Yes! This is one of the things I like most. People like portraying her as Darkchylde. But she's also just a teenage girl with a big brother who loves her.

It's worth knowing that Magik is not truly an anti-hero and that there's still some goodness in her heart. I really liked the changes Zeb Wells did to her by the end of "Fall/Rise of the New Mutants".
