Did you know that both of those incidents are based off of some actual history? Al Capone did indeed beat the hell out of one of his goons with a baseball bat. The second one is a bit stranger, but based off of something that happened ... I believe in Russia. A gunfight was going on and somehow some lady's baby in a carriage gets loose and everyone ignores it. The baby dies ...
Hollywood can at least improve on history.

Wow! I had no idea about the episode in estation (Russia), it was really interesting to know. Capone was a sadist and a very violent man, I have no doubt about the baseball bat. Ah yes, David Mamet (screenwriter)was brilliant.

I do remember talking in a history class about both incidents when I was in high school. The teacher was not surprised by the interest, especially with a movie like the Untouchables.
