Description I haven't drawn in some time so I thought id pick up something I started ages ago. I have a fondness for speculating extinct animals' appearances. I essentially redid much of it as most of it's anatomy on the original I was working on because it was highly based off of an art piece of someone who actually saw the bird while it was still alive. I did some experimenting with the colors based off of real birds and related birds. I also want to play on the idea of the female being pale or gray. I might make the crest a bit longer but I think I am off to a good start.

Thanks! I want to believe that this creature was colorful as the few depictions describe. I think the term that was used "indian raven" was just sailor's ways of explaining large birds unfamiliar to them. Some accounts describe a dark bird also called the "indian raven" that could be the another extinct parrot or the female version of this one. Looking at one of the drawings I could find it seems almost as if it had facial markings sketched on so I tried to bring them out with help from living relatives. I think most leave out the male's facial lines but just about all of it's relatives have them so I don't understand why this one wouldn't.
