This is probably my last finished movie of this year, so let's go out with a bang that will give you quite a headache.
Another hyper Sonic movie, for everyone who complained that I lost my crappy drawingstyle and got bored with all the more artsy things I've done.
Oh, and to finally shut people up about telling me the Babylon Rogues are back. I KNOW, darn it.
So yeah, Zero Gravity, what's there to say?
Thing that amuses me the most is that all the levels are racetracks that go in a loop.
That was fine for the first game, since it revolved around a grand prix, but in this game our heroes race because they need to go somewhere, are being chased, or are doing the chasing. So why the heck are the racing in circles?
Would make more sense if the levels were long stretches of road, like in most Rally games or in the Cruis'n series.
What's with the Raiders of the lost Ark vibes in the babylon Rogues story opening anway, Storm's even making the same arm movements as Indy's "sidekick".
For the rest, the game has a generic Sonic story, so let's go around the bulletpoints:
---Annoying new main character: Suprisingly no, but the Babylon Rogues return. Wave and Storm became a lot more likeble in this game, but Jet is really annoying here, getting right on my most annoying characters list after SIlver and Chris.
He yells at Storm and Wave for being late at one point, after they seperated to do chores. Things Wave did:
Research ancient civilisation, improve the airboards, invent a brand new radar system.
Things Storm did: Fight Amy, being attacked by robots, getting lost in the city, finding 2 cosmos stones and getting back to a flying headquarters with no aircraft.
Things Jet did:... moan and complain behind his desk.
Why's that guy the leader anyway?
I love one bit of dialogue that went like;
Jet: Give me THAT THING girl!
Sonic: Girls don't cooperate when you rush them Jet!
Jet: Rush?? IM THE FASTEST CREATURE ALIVE AND IM FAST AND AWESOME AND FAST (insert 5 hour lecture about how fast he is)
Great Jet, but that wasn't Sonic's point. But that bit sums him up pretty much. Heck, it sums up all Sonic characters now I think about it.
---New super evil villain.
Jup, move over Ultimate Doom, Erazor Djin and Mephiles, because here is..dun dun dun! SCR-HD! It's a robot! He wants to steal a ring, and then.. explodes.
Then he steals the rings again..and then he explodes again.
Wow, I guess he's modeled after Sauron from Lord of the rings or something.
Exposition plot: As usual, the game doesn't have any real plot, other then characters yelling how awesome they are and then moving to a diffrent place. Occasionally that plot get's interupted by tedious exposition.
I love it how Tails at one point goes "The robots exploded.. BUT THAT MEANS!..no wait, I have to think first.." As if the writers want to build up suspense about the exposition.
Oh, why did the robots explode, Tails? Because of the power of the chaos emeralds? or the power of the Ark? or the power of the cosmos stones? Or the power of this paperclip? Tell me!! The suspense is killing me!!
The back story is about aliens crashing on earth, because their ship crashed because they send it into space to cause a black hole to destroy earth as a warning for not using the spaceship who's in space about to kill them.. or something.
Makes sense.
--Most conflict in the story is caused by the heroes's speech impediments;
Jup, as usual your biggest enemies are your friends, because they keep fighting because..eh.. I dunno.
If I were Eggman, I'd just start a pie eating contest for Sonic and his "friends" and make them murder each other over who's the best eater, while I go somewhere else carrying out my evil plans.
Speaking of which, what the heck does Eggman want anyway? Build Robotnikland? The guy has at least two entire new themepark/city/factory whatever's in every game, why does he even need a evil plan to get Roobtnikland? He seems to have his own evil cities and all already, especially since GUN and Sonic never seem to bother demolishing those. They just stop Eggman's useless moonlaser weapon, or in Tails case, take away 300 rings, and then go away again. Morons.

Deffenitly one of your better ones for a while. Running in cirkles solves all problems, that's what I always have been saying (even if I haven't said it to a single person). I bet Spinning Jesus knew that all along
It's not easy being you either. How can all yor fans fit in your room? Either you only have 6 fans or your house is huuΓΊge.
Well done in the end

Oh, I have a big room.
I guess they learned their spinning around problem solving from Superman form the old Superfriends cartoons.
If only I spin fast enough so the molecules can rearrange and freeze molecules to travel back in time, i can just make it..

Maybe if you can stack yourself on top of alot of spinning things to give you a little more speed. I think that would help Good luck with archiving time travels

You summed up that story pretty neatly.
And I dunno if the sales were good, but if they were... there's a possibility of a new game with them... *Ominous music*

1,000 if you get more fans by the time the game's announced.
If you must, you can always live a dual life somewhere else to get away from it. Like The Incredible Hulk, minus the green muscles and sad walking music.

You can have one, if you know someone who can write music, and if you walk away while holding either a stereo, or somehow have it play in the background.

Knuckles suprisingly doesn't fight or get angry in this game, in fact he barely has 5 lines of dialogue in the whole game.
Still, I set him up as the frontman of senseless violence in Sonic games, since he's usually the one beating his pals up.
Vista is the fastest? HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAA

π: 0 β©: 1
mizox In reply to HHog [2008-12-28 18:05:27 +0000 UTC]
yeah, but in order to hit him you have to be in first place when gravity control activates, and your opponents have a strange tendency to pass you at the last second NO MATTER HOW FAST YOU'RE GOING AND NO MATTER HOW FAR AHEAD YOU ARE, seriously, you can't boost or anything during that boss, not with the arcs gone
π: 0 β©: 1
HHog In reply to mizox [2008-12-28 18:14:04 +0000 UTC]
There are still grind rails (which you ALWAYS have to take, if I recall right), and when the boss uses that Gravity Fall thing you have to use the broken floor fragments to boost ahead, if I recall right. It is pretty tough, but not impossible. I'm pretty sure I made it, anyway.

Ah, Super Dickery, where Lois Lane marries every 5 minutes, Jimmie Olsen keeps getting super powers to kill his best friend Superman and Superman doesn't need anything to kill everyone.
Very educational indeed.

It's hard to believe people actually used to read comics like that back then... Even harder to believe people could write comics like that. Drugs must have been much stronger back then.

Rogerregorroger In reply to HentaiBoy [2008-12-29 22:09:30 +0000 UTC]
Well, I think the Superdickery site itself states that the series are usually rebooted every year since the writers didn't think readers would keep reading longer then a year, or forget the old issues anyway. Weren't aware there were comic nerds storing all the issues up in security vaults. Poor naive bastards.
Plus they need to sell every issue, so it needs some BIG headlines to get attention, a comic with "Superman fights generic monster #5665" won't sell many issues.
But "Superman dresses up like a girl, murders Lex Luthor and uses that corpse to make a themepark ride to ask Lois Lane to marry him inside" might JUST get a little bit of attention.

Aw yeah, watching this made me remember SRZG's silly, contrived and confusing plot all over again... I dunno if they're planning more with Sonic Riders, but if they do, prepare yourself, man...
...Then again, after having portrayed the fans' incessant banter about stuff like that as an actual part of the movie (nice job on those scenes, by the way), it might just ease them down a little...
....Then again, perhaps not XD
