Game's fantastic, final boss sucks, story is meh.
And where's Toot Toot Sonic warrior? That song was practically Classic Sonic's main theme, it appeared in at least 4 games.
Okay, 3 of those were game gear games. I suppose those don't exist, derp derp.
Whaah, but I grew up on the game gear.

Some comments I got about the lists within the movie..
Yes, there are games where the chaos emeralds are not the solution to the story''s problem, but there's either a magical object that might as well have been a chaos emerald (Time stones, Secret rings, magical swords, you name it) or the game doesn't have a problem to be solved to begin with (Sonic's schoolhouse, Sega and all stars tennis, etcetera) so my point still stands.

Then there's the "These games aren't canon" argument.
heh, I didn't know Sonic had a canon bible like Star Trek.
Anyway, Smash bros and the Sega all stars and Mario and Sonic games are probably not canon, so sure.
However, a lot of other games are. So besides all the games directly appearing in Sonic generations, here's a list of games I'm pretty sure count as "Canon" as well:

Sonic Rush/rush adventure: Not only does Rush have a level in the 3DS game, Blaze directly mentions the red coins from the Rush series as well.

Sonic Rivals: Silver recognises Sonic.

Sonic the fighters: Sonic adventure is canon, and Tails's house and airplane strip comes directly from Sonic the fighters. Also Fang, Bark and Bean have a cameo.

Sonic Battle- Sonic advance 3- Sonic Chronicles: All three are interconnected trough Emerl. There's contuiity, so I count them as Canon. Plus Yuji Naka was closely involved with Sonic Battle. I believe that game had the same scenerio writer as Sonic adventure 2 as well.

Sonic arcade: Ray has a cameo

Sonic Riders: Jet has a cameo.

Shadow the hedgehog: Shadow's personality has changed a lot since Shadow's game.
Considering he finally found peace with his past in that game, I consider Shadow's behaviour in Sonic 2006 and on proof this game is canon as well.

So there. Only party games, and the game gear/master system games are shaky as far as contuity is concerned.

Now bring on the downloadable content Sega.
If Sonic unleashed can have over a dozen bonus levels, then this game certainly can. Booyah.
