Might as well upload this one now.You probably already saw it on youtube or Blip, but otherwise.
Tadah.
Game's fantastic, final boss sucks, story is meh.
And where's Toot Toot Sonic warrior? That song was practically Classic Sonic's main theme, it appeared in at least 4 games.
Okay, 3 of those were game gear games. I suppose those don't exist, derp derp.
Whaah, but I grew up on the game gear.
Some comments I got about the lists within the movie..
Yes, there are games where the chaos emeralds are not the solution to the story''s problem, but there's either a magical object that might as well have been a chaos emerald (Time stones, Secret rings, magical swords, you name it) or the game doesn't have a problem to be solved to begin with (Sonic's schoolhouse, Sega and all stars tennis, etcetera) so my point still stands.
Then there's the "These games aren't canon" argument.
heh, I didn't know Sonic had a canon bible like Star Trek.
Anyway, Smash bros and the Sega all stars and Mario and Sonic games are probably not canon, so sure.
However, a lot of other games are. So besides all the games directly appearing in Sonic generations, here's a list of games I'm pretty sure count as "Canon" as well:
Sonic Rush/rush adventure: Not only does Rush have a level in the 3DS game, Blaze directly mentions the red coins from the Rush series as well.
Sonic Rivals: Silver recognises Sonic.
Sonic the fighters: Sonic adventure is canon, and Tails's house and airplane strip comes directly from Sonic the fighters. Also Fang, Bark and Bean have a cameo.
Sonic Battle- Sonic advance 3- Sonic Chronicles: All three are interconnected trough Emerl. There's contuiity, so I count them as Canon. Plus Yuji Naka was closely involved with Sonic Battle. I believe that game had the same scenerio writer as Sonic adventure 2 as well.
Sonic arcade: Ray has a cameo
Sonic Riders: Jet has a cameo.
Shadow the hedgehog: Shadow's personality has changed a lot since Shadow's game.
Considering he finally found peace with his past in that game, I consider Shadow's behaviour in Sonic 2006 and on proof this game is canon as well.
So there. Only party games, and the game gear/master system games are shaky as far as contuity is concerned.
Now bring on the downloadable content Sega.
If Sonic unleashed can have over a dozen bonus levels, then this game certainly can. Booyah.

Uh, Sonic's universe survived worse, like Eggman and Chip randomly flinging the continents around in Unleashed.

I still love Sonic Shuffle I don't care what anyone says about it. lol I will admit though that just about any party game sucks by yourself though.

haha thanks, but for YOUR version, I can totally enjoy it using my brain. I mean, usual sonic plotlines, magical girls anime, and "Dr. Who - A christmas carol 2010 special" where they screwed up in every possible way every time travel rule, etc.
The only way to enjoy those is just not thinking at all in all the plot holes, contradictions and obvious common sense solutions/problems.

I have a question... did you really has problems with sonic shuffle?? maybe is a girls game 'cos I easy pass it two times in normal mode, really, it was too easy for me (easier than trying to write this in english XD)
oh and I'm with you in the part os shadow, he found peace in shadow the hedgehog and his version in sonic'06 was so cool, mephiles in his role of "move to the dark side of force" and he still stand cool... XD so I don't know why he turns emo again in the other games, did you notice? if you die in the final boss when shadow talks he say something like "I know that you will fail..." o.o and metal sonic had a reason to fights sonic, silver was confused in knuckles style, but shadow just wants to destroy sonic! that guy needs a psychologist...

I heard you HAVE to play Sonic shuffle with other people.
Just you against the computer is murder.
And hey, maybe normal mode is easier then easy mode. I haven't checked, and I could hardly see how easy mode could have been harder. What a pain.
Oh, I didn't make fun of Silver just because he throws stuff at Sonic, it's his actual dialogue in the game for why he fights Sonic, to see if he's an imposter.
As for Shadow, I think he's no longer emo in any new Sonic game. He was cool in 2006 and even in free riders.
Tough agree, his behaviour in Sonic generations didn't make sense, but that's because the new writers they hired since Sonic colours are just incapable of writing any Sonic character besides Sonic, Tails and Eggman.
(And even then, only those 3 as long as they're making food jokes)

well, I always play alone in story mode, now I remember that I pass the game with sonic, amy, knuckles (tails is still in the last zone XD)
maybe the "hard" thing in easy mode is that computer is stupid and do random thing that are worst... all the game in story mode is so funny with the creepy dreams about eggman and his "this is what I'm going to do to you..." peeervert XD and the story itself is cool, I love the "Illumine wanted to create a perfect world... but Void was born..." I hate that Nights-girl saying that things, Void just want friends! XDXD
and shadow, you have sonic chronicles as a canon, right? (we never see the end!! fuck you EA >o<) that said it all XDXD shadow there is shouting and fighting everybody with that "I have a friend WHEEE but I don't want that the others know about it... so I act like a bastard..." I didn't play the rivals but he has a sprite where he smiles (and his head explodes XDXDXD)

well, Amy in SA1 wasn't all "sonicsonicsonic" she likes other things and had story, in SA2 she changes to "ohsonicwaitforme!!!" and in sonic heroes she's "ohsonicMARRYME!" so she never had story or character anymore... I miss the Amy of SA1 v.v she was so funny

yeah, sucks amy lost her character from Sonic adventure.
Counts for Tails and Knuckles too, tough.
In Sonic adventure, Knuckles found peace and accepted himself as the true guard of the master emerald.
Which he did on a idiotic moron level in Sonic adventure 2 and since then he doesn't care anymore.
And Tails learned to stand up for himself and not be longer dependend on Sonic in Sonic adventure. He kept that trait in Sonic adventure 2, but immediatly lost it again after.
That's Sonic heroes biggest legacy, all main characters lost their brain there.

The levels are just like unleashed, except a lot more easier.
Thank god, unleashed was hell sometimes.
I feared they'd be more like Sonic colours, but with obvious exception of the planet wisp levels, they're more Unleashed then Colours.

Sega ruined a great moment to bring back mighty,ray,fang,bean,and that polar bear from the arcade fighter game. Instead they were only camoes. But this wasen't the only chance. In sonic colors, the name sounded like that hyper sonic was going to come back.(hypersonic flashs a rainbow) but only super sonic comes back to regular stages. It was good but that was a HUGE oppertunity.

biggest opurtunity far as I'm concerned was Sonic unleashed.
They spend a huge amoung of effort in making dozens and dozens of unique NPCs for in the villages AND they made them more cartoony to fit better with Sonic and friends. So what was stopping them making Mighty or Ray or whatever a shopkeeper in one or two villages?
It's still weird Sonic and pals are the only anthromorphic characters with no explanation.

I dunno I gave up after Sonic Heroes. I came back when I played Sonic Generations but some people think Sonic is God, Son of God, or a prophet. I do agree that it seems like Sonic Team glorifies Sonic way too much. Heres to hoping Sonic 4 episode 2 is enjoyable...
