Might as well upload this one now.You probably already saw it on youtube or Blip, but otherwise.
Tadah.
Game's fantastic, final boss sucks, story is meh.
And where's Toot Toot Sonic warrior? That song was practically Classic Sonic's main theme, it appeared in at least 4 games.
Okay, 3 of those were game gear games. I suppose those don't exist, derp derp.
Whaah, but I grew up on the game gear.
Some comments I got about the lists within the movie..
Yes, there are games where the chaos emeralds are not the solution to the story''s problem, but there's either a magical object that might as well have been a chaos emerald (Time stones, Secret rings, magical swords, you name it) or the game doesn't have a problem to be solved to begin with (Sonic's schoolhouse, Sega and all stars tennis, etcetera) so my point still stands.
Then there's the "These games aren't canon" argument.
heh, I didn't know Sonic had a canon bible like Star Trek.
Anyway, Smash bros and the Sega all stars and Mario and Sonic games are probably not canon, so sure.
However, a lot of other games are. So besides all the games directly appearing in Sonic generations, here's a list of games I'm pretty sure count as "Canon" as well:
Sonic Rush/rush adventure: Not only does Rush have a level in the 3DS game, Blaze directly mentions the red coins from the Rush series as well.
Sonic Rivals: Silver recognises Sonic.
Sonic the fighters: Sonic adventure is canon, and Tails's house and airplane strip comes directly from Sonic the fighters. Also Fang, Bark and Bean have a cameo.
Sonic Battle- Sonic advance 3- Sonic Chronicles: All three are interconnected trough Emerl. There's contuiity, so I count them as Canon. Plus Yuji Naka was closely involved with Sonic Battle. I believe that game had the same scenerio writer as Sonic adventure 2 as well.
Sonic arcade: Ray has a cameo
Sonic Riders: Jet has a cameo.
Shadow the hedgehog: Shadow's personality has changed a lot since Shadow's game.
Considering he finally found peace with his past in that game, I consider Shadow's behaviour in Sonic 2006 and on proof this game is canon as well.
So there. Only party games, and the game gear/master system games are shaky as far as contuity is concerned.
Now bring on the downloadable content Sega.
If Sonic unleashed can have over a dozen bonus levels, then this game certainly can. Booyah.

I'm once again watching this animation of your's, Roger, and I must admit one thing...
Even though Sonic Generations is a pretty fun game to play (aside from that stupid boss thing... F*ck you, Time Eater) it has so many logic flaws and plot fails... Just no comment needed...

The Joke about Classic Sonic's birth is pretty my favorite one in this flash.
Also thanks for letting us know about those horrible games that are Shuffle, School board and Labyrinth.
Sad truth about the homing missiles part... and yeah Final Boss was kinda sucky. But for some reason, since Sonic Heroes, all Final Boss battles take place in the air and you're desperately charge it while avoiding homing missiles.
One thing about the scene with the cheering : of course the Sonics were the only characters playable, so the rest of the cast couldn't really help. But here you used it as to show Sonic's ego. But really, isn't it more like Sega just has no idea how to use this cast, or they're just too addicted to Sonic ?

Sonic and Knuckles was the first Sonic game with a space final battle tough.
I like Sonic adventure's final boss the most of the super sonic bosses, especailly since the destroyed city as backdrop gives a great sense of urge, speed and the seriousness of the situation. Space is just BORING.
Problem with Sonic's cast is that the Sonic games both try to make Sonic the Big Action hero like Arnold Swarzenegger, and want Sonic to have a huge cast to interact with like Final fantasy.
For each game they should just choose one of the 2, because combining those 2 doesn't work.
As you say, Sega doesn't know what to do with them. Sonic storylines should either drop the plot and just have Sonic kicking ass, or should model itself after Mission impossible more, Sonic as the big hero, Tails as his side kick/ tech support guy, Knuckles the muscle keeping robot troops busy to give Sonic the space he needs, Chaotix actually BEING detectives again providing information, Shadow and Rouge the spies, etcetera etcetera. Everyone has their own little thing to do and they don't feel useless.
But now it's more like a penis measuring contest, all characters want to be the best and the fastest and the coolest in a story that has no room for more then one fast cool dude.

More like the fans destroy anything with anyone playable but Sonic. Countless articles about why the entire cast minus Sonic and Eggman must be erased from existance have been made. Same deal with gameplay styles: other series are allowed to have party and spin off games: Sonic is not. He can only run and jump.

The worst part is that the homing missiles barely do any damage anyway, I don't think I ever actually put any attention to them during the fight.

Discovering all those obscure Sonic games is actually kind of educational (if I can use that word for video game lore, and I probably shouldn't).
This movie was really funny, so many things begging to be made fun of in those anthology games that are kind of forced to have a crappy story considering the basic premise of having to fuse games together... Another reminder of why crossovers aren't actually good except in the eyes of fanboys.
I really liked the jab at the classic shonen anime ending where all the hero's friends come back to say that teamwork is the key to victory, and then the hero does everything alone anyway, with the other guys just cheering.

Yeah, when I first heard of Sonic generations, explained as a collection of remastered old Sonic levels, I figured this game would just be a level pack or some sorts.
That would have been the smartest move probably. Ah well.

Not to mention a small, altered portion of sonic battle's story was placed in the Sonic X TV show.
I wish it had a bigger role though. I loved sonic battle's story (even if most of the time they were beating each other up)

must have been tough to animate, since there's strict cartoon censor laws against characters punching and kicking each other.
I was suprised how much direct melee violence they actually managed to get into it tough.
Usually anime fills itself with endless laser blasts and weird technique monster summoning stuff to avoid using pure violence, and any actual melee fight is usually them jumping around or throwing slapstick items at each other.

Also I, too, hated the annoying final boss chatter about homing missiles and whatnot.. not to mention I couldn't for the life of me get the controls to work right >.<

it's not that I don't think it's a good show, I just don't have time.
I only watch tv rograms or movies while animating, and a high energy show as this would probably be constantly distracting me.

Yeah, its an awesome show, but its unhealthy for busy people. It always works the same way with literally everyone who watches it. First you just watch it when its conveinent for you, then you start doing it more often, then you go out of your way to watch it, and then you eventually find yourself staying up untill 4:00 AM watching a show about ponies, and you regret nothing. o__o Well, you'll probably end up watching it eventually, the fun part is gonna be seeing how long it takes. >:3

IMP featus is basically a parody on IMP, so everything that happens there is sarcastic. I'll probably gave that Hhog with a bow character a cameo or something just like the actual IMP 32 started with a remake of Roger's introduction there, but it's just a short gag if anything.
