Description
In celebration of the upcoming release of Animal Crossing for the Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo teamed up with the makers of Calico Critters/Sylvanian Families to produce a line of small poseable flocked action figures. Each includes removable clothes, hands that can hold and interact with tools, furniture and accessories (sold separately), and a collectible card featuring the character from the game.If only that was true... I'd buy them!
Made using Calico Critters figures and paint. The cards are the eCards that were released for the first game.

I realize this is a bit old, but what kind of paint did you use (sorry if this has been asked before)?

I used standard acrylic craft paint, but keep in mind that these figures are flocked (fuzzy surface), so you'll want to dab the area you paint with a paper towel as you go while the paint is still wet to make sure the paint stays on the plastic surface of the figure and doesn't clump up on the edges of the fur. It also helps to use a plain white animal since you can use a thinner layer of paint than if you had to cover up a color or design.

Thanks so much for all the info! I got my own Sylvanian Family the other day (Hopscotch bunnies and Pickleweed twins) and was considering customizing them, but I probably won't since they're my first ones and I have very little experience with flocked toys (thanks for explaining what that means btw). :3

You're welcome! And I completely understand not wanting to customize your first figures. It took many trials before I understood things like paint dabbing, etc. I got quite a few used figures on eBay quite cheap and expimented on them.
