I've been dying to draw a young Barbossa for the longest time, and in the worst way, ever since finding 's art and character designs. In fact I don't think I'd be drawing, or wanting to draw, so much PotC art right now if not for the fact that I'm in love with her work and her version of Hector.I used some screenshots for the face and costume details, and, again, used the hair design from Kheelan.
won't be colored because it was only supposed to be a sketch. I love how the head came out, but don't like the overall composition/placement.

I have her to blame for my ulitmate love of Hector as well, and it's her design concepts on which I and also base young Hector and Jack.
Unfortunately she seems to have fallen off the face of the internet, and I lost contact with her some time ago on LJ. So sad!

I could tell! I love it when artists become trend setters.
I know, and it's kinda depressing! I re-read her comics over and over, not just for the excellent character designs, but just out of naked jealousy for her fantastic art and inking and detail. Well, real life trumps everything!

aww man, if she ever did come back, I'd feel both ecstatic and nervous! her prequel stuff is hugely inspiring to me and almost any Sparbossa art I do, so I kinda feel like I'm, if not copying her, then following her example, or trying to. I just wonder what she would think if she saw my stuff.
On the other hand, if she's just bored of the fandom, I can totally relate. That's why I never tried to contact her or ask her to continue her projects, like her fabulous comics, because I know it annoys me when people bug me about finishing something I haven't worked on for ages.

Indeed looks good. Tis difficult to really capture the youthfulness of Hector. Ye done well. Kudos.

hmm I do like it, even if you think itΒ΄s not good. But I understand that, lol I sometimes think that my drawings suck too. I like kheelanΒ΄s young Hector too! Hmm if I see him smirking like that I want to be near him right now!

I like it, I just dont' like the boringness/blandness of the pose :\ I dunno, I just wish I felt more confident in drawing fleshed out figures, the way Kheelan does. haha I just wish I were as good as her!

Aye to that...and a bottle of rum! Because I still have problems with BarbossaΒ΄s nose! ItΒ΄s a distingtiv feature of him and kheelan does them best!
