breaking the 4th wall with Sideshow Bob! ahh how I've missed him. I've been struggling with depression these past months, years really. I've done a lot less art in this time, especially lately. I got to the point where I'd ask myself what even was the point of trying to make myself draw or work on some picture. I'm not cured or anything, or that much better. But I'm well enough to draw, somewhat, and getting re-obsessed with the Simpsons and Futurama. I want to be a penciller at Bongo, I think. I just can't get away from Groening's style, it feels so natural for me, and yet still quite challenging.I was struggling with ideas so I did this screenshot redraw. i387.photobucket.com/albums/oo…

Hey, I'd still kill for like, very violent Cecil/Sideshow Mel stuff. I dunno, I still have mostly sex and violence in my mind when it comes to this fandom, which is probably the reason why it tick people off so much xD
Oh well, it really didn't bother me getting hatemail cos some of the stuff I did back in the day was legit disturbing and it pleases me that they were just as fucked up I thought previously. Maybe it's cos I hang around in Tumblr so much and people there just love to dig up dirt. Especially on cartoonporn. I don't have any Simpsons stuff on my blog, but some cartoon things people constantly ask me not to tag cos kids might see them o something and I'm like, you do know that my blog is flagged as nsfw, if you see something, it's only cos your safe search is not on xD
Awww, I'll be happy to see what ever you're willing to draw. If I have time I might scribble few Cecils myself. I dunno, I rather like him being even more xtreme with his violence than Bob. I mean, I can see Bob toning down his antics for whatever reason, but Cecil goes to the kill and no-one can stop him xD

lol tumblr. yeah i know what you mean gahh. thank god no one has come to me about the tags. the tags are there for your own personal convenience! yeah i have my blog as nsfw too xD figure it's only common sense. I still put porn beneath cuts on tumblr, but ehh even that isn't necessary if, again, your blog is set to that level. anyway people should just assume by now that no matter what they search for on tumblr (or anywhere on the internet), they wll et some fucked up shit. dont' want your kids seeing that? then, sorry, you must either supervise your kid the entire time, or get the fuck over it and accept that's just out there in the world maybe have an adult conversation with your kid about it.
oh i would die to see you draw Cecil! of course I would xD you know I really see him that way, as well. they both seem to be lacking in morals, or at least are able to detach themselves from morality when it is convenient. and are both bitter, angry souls underneath, so would lash out very violently if pushed, for sure. Bob is definitely much more reserved and restrained, Cecil more open and in a way wanting to be credited more. like, they both want to perform for the world but in their own ways. Bob likes to unleash himself when he's acting or singing, a way to be totally free, but it's art --and "high class" art lol the snooty fuckers-- so it's ok to be emotional and expressive. but in crime it seems he doesn't want the spotlight. he did disguise as Krusty for one crime, after all. all he wanted in the end was to push is own ideas onto others, not necessarily be famous for his crime or admired personally. whereas Cecil likes being in charge; with his legit job he was the boss, he reminded Bob that he'd be *his* boss, etc. he likes explosions, big, obvious acts of destruction, and bombers are usually (in)famous. also, he wants Bob to acknowledge him above anything else. he had to let Bob know his plan instead of just doing it, which would have led to his success. he struggles with people not taking him seriously, feeling inadequate all his life.
so yeah I could see that being fun to play with in pairings. the whole sideshow thing is just so weird and creepy anyway. a ot of things in the Simpsons are disturbing really. total lack of justice; fuckin Wiggum has a dictatorship over the whole town, if he says you're going to prison, fuck you, you're going to prison. dont' even care if you're a little kid lmao. I do love all that though, how inherently chaotic life is in Springfield lol. at any time you could go to jail or die in a freakish accident

I just put my porn on tumblr without cuts, they're tagged so they're easy to block if someone would once go through the effort and not just complain.
More and more I think about it I probably will draw some simpsons stuff once I have free time. I have one illustration deadline and I'm drawing technical drawings of furniture at school, so I'm not having as much time for drawing I'd prefer. But it's nice if you're having energy to draw, alaways nice to see stuff from people with similar interests.
I haven't even watched Simpsons in along time except for some random reruns, I have no idea what's been going in the last few seasons. I still prefer it to most other animated series as it doesn't piss me off.

ahhh I"d love to see Simpsons art from you. i'm glad I dont' have artistic obligations right now like school. I was unable to handle my last few semesters and flunked out. i'm trying to get aggressively back into art with the emphasis of self-learning. esp concerning cartoons and comic art.
hah I dont know what's going on either. there's a lot I've yet to see. I've grown up watching this show; it's one of those that was always on for a while there, every weeknight, sometimes twice on certain channels. it was a given. it's never on TV anymore, though. (I haven't had a TV in years so i could be wrong, but I never see it available with my friends) but even then, there' plenty of eps I haven't seen from way back, and I haven't seen like the last 4 seasons except for an ep here and there. it annoys me when people spend time and energy bashing the more current Simpsons, and always beg and moan for "classic" Simpsons. there are good and crappy eps no matter what era you look into. in my opinion, the later seasons are not as good. perhaps not nearly as good. but....who gives a shit, the writers/etc are doing their best I'm sure and we are still getting new content.
if you consider Futurama part of the same world as Simpsons than yeah, it's my fave cartoon, too. at least the most consistently favorite, I love a billion more cartoons of course, but perhaps it's how adult the world seems to be, and yet it's still silly and cartoony. Futurama is probably more violent/extreme but they both can be. i remember in Girl Scouts, I told my troop leader or whatever she's called that I watch te Simpsons, when I was 11 or so, and she said she banned her kids from watching that because it's "obscene." lol

I'm actually kinda missing like proper art school stuff, I just feel like I'm not making any progress nowadays that I'm staying in my comfort zone. I have few anatomical drawing lessons booked next year, but in the meantime I'm just trying my best not to get any worse. At least I've this year started to do a bit more digital art, though not very many serious ones, but that's a new thing.
I agree with being annoyed with current Simpsons, cos to me it feels like it's been pretty much the exact same after first few season. And people view different stuff as "classic", as it really depends what point you started to watch it regularly. To me it might be like between seasons 8 to 12 maybe. But other than that I don't feel like their basic stuff has changed much. Then again, I can't stand Family Guy or the likes, and I can't stand an episode of that, so I probably am biased to like anything that isn't that xD
Futurama is excellent, tho I haven't seen a single ep for a long long long time. It just hasn't been on here at all, so I haven't watched it either.

oh no, hopefully you don't lose too much motivation for school. I failed out of so many art classes the past few years due to lack of motivation. I love the look of your gallery so far at least. i want to go in and look at stuff and take my tme but so far lots of metaphorical/abstract looking pieces and the colors are marvelous. i like it so far.
yeah I don't expect much at all with any recent Simpsons, from the current season, back a few seasons. it's not even close to as funny any more, they don't have the same charming story lines, etc. not to be too harsh of course, and I feel the compulsion rewatch from ep 1 all the way though before I can compare seasons. if I like a show enough where I'm wiling to analyze it and shit, then yes I feel the need to watch it in order...even if order doesn't matter too much. it's very interesting to see how the show changes, though. it's worth it to see how far some characters have gone, the minor/background ones changing so very much. I love Season 1 Sideshow Bob for example, though of course I love him in all the seaons. he's very raw and angry in the first season (in the framing Krusty one.) in the early early ones, before he started talking, he was a lot like Mel is now. Much more passive and sweet.
by the way, I'm thinkng Krusty/Bob these days, and it was one episodes that finally pushed me over the edge. I will have to look it up; Bob was only in it for a few minutes, what magical minutes they were lol. t was a throw away scene, not terribly important to te plot, but for whatever reason Bob and Krusty were hanging out all day in Krusty's cabin, and Krusty mentions to Bart, or whoever it was, that he and Bob slept in the same bed for warmth. like..............................first of all why does Krusty feel the compulsion to tell people he sleeps with his sideshows? and fuck I need to see this actually happen xD
also he said this, "we got up in the middle of the night, had a nosh, and watched the rest of the dvd and went to sleep!" not exact quote, but what I could remember. well I didn't know what "nosh" meant so when I heard that i freaked out a little. this show queer baits like a mother fucker, though, so I honestly wonder sometimes lol

It's not that I have too little motivation, but there's too little time sometimes to do as much as I would like. And I have chronic anemia going on, which makes me kinda chronically tired, so sometimes it's hard to muster enough energy to draw as much i would hope for. But you know, I try my best xD
I had almost forgotten that sharing beds nonsense, ok what the fuck xD I don't think there isn't any other possible explanation that Krusty is abusing his position in power to fuck with his underlings. Like, I don't think there was even any other interpretation to go, otherwise the whole thing just goes incomprehensible. Or I dunno. At least gives enough fucked up material to steam the shipping train xD

I love him! Can't wait for Cecil too, but I'm really sorry you've been battling depression. It's a horrible, hard thing to overcome (I'm still struggling with episodes that are coming more frequently now, but that's also because of stress from school and work...), but you just need to fight it. :/

Dang. I'm sorry to hear of your depression as well! Sounds like you know what I'm talking about, but yeah, the only thing you can do is fight. I had to decide, during a really bad episode, to make every effort to fight it, no matter how difficult that is. just wake up every day with the attitude of a warrior. It's either that or let the darkness swallow you whole, I think.
