Description
A gift for who wanted Father Sean and Ruth Powers, who are seldom seen, yet just as vibrant and interesting as anyone else in the show. That's one thing I love about the Simpsons, all the minor characters. You just wouldn't have the show without all of them. Moleman could show up for two minutes and have me rolling for an hour. The ride to school woudln't be complete without Otto. And there's even a character that my Simpsons hating friend can't help but love, Groundskeeper Willie. And of course, for the past few days and God knows for how long into the future, I've been obsessing over characters that have been in a paltry handful of episodes.
So give it up for the minor characters! Even if they only appeared once, they most likely delivered a powerful punch and won't be forgotten.
Check out 's gallery for some fantastic Simpsons art, including more stuff about Ruth and Sean and many others.
She's gonna do me one in return and I'm frothing at the mouth with excitement, cuz you know what I asked for hur hur
Father Sean and Ruth Powers belong to Matt Groening

The Simpsons have always the best sidecharacters, makes always watching all interesting. It's a sign of a good show if even sidecharacetrs are cool^^
Good job, this looks awesome, even though I don't remember them at this time^^

thank you! I actually don't know these characters, either. The girl I drew them for really likes them. I've seen Ruth before, but I've never seen Father Sean. But there's always new characters appearing, and sometimes they are designed to be similar to who will voice them. Father Sean is voiced Liam Neeson, and I can already tell the resemblance!

Haha, I've done that with my favorite actors too. But I couldn't ignore all that's happening in Schindlers list, maybe because I've reand the book like 12 times and it still moves^^ Great actors, and great directing, even though mr. Spielberg isn't my favorite for anything^

Aww there was a book? That's pretty cool. I kinda avoid taht stuff though because it's just too depressing and dark, even for me. I'm not one of those that wants ot hide the fact taht it happened, but I just don't care to read or watch movies or talk about it myself. It makes me ashamed that the Germans try to cover it up, not to say it never happened, but as if they are so ashamed that they avoid the issue altogether.
Just like here in America, we have lots of media about the Western front of WWII. Lots of stuff about Nazis and the German war. But it is rare to read or see anything about the war in Japan, i guess because of what we did to them. It isn't banned to wear the military uniforms of WWII, as it is forbidden to wear Nazi uniforms in Germany, but this silence and awkwardness is not good.
ahha I don't really like Spielberg, either. too sappy. I don't normally have favorite directors, but currently mine is Martin Scorsese xD

I think that Nazi Germany, Jews and stuff that relates to WWII is probably my favorite field in history. It goes so deep and back even thousands of years and tells something about very basics of human cruelty.
I know the way that Germans act like they don't want to mention about what happened, but I see it little hyppocrite for other countries (including Finland too) for blaming Germany as the biggest mark of evil in the world at WWII time. Germany wasn't nearly the only country against Jews (or gypsies, homosexuals and so on), whole Europe and America too was in it, even some time after the war. Many of the concentration camps and what Germans were doing there were well know way before war over, nothing was done since it didn't seem such a big deal to anyone.
I'm not releasing Nazy Germany from lease, I'm just saying that the shame is shared with all humankind, and there's no pary in that war that was truly innocent.
Sorry about lecture again, but I'm really passionate about this thing. I went to this intensive cource last autumn that covered whole Jewish history in the very beginning, like way before Old testament was written, and I got real good general view of discrimination and all the reasons for it.
Martin Scorsese is good choiche for favorite actor. I really cannot say mine since I have a lot of actor that I like, and to say that someone is better that other is really hard^^

I am definitely interested in the Nazi part of WWII. I used to study the Nazi hierarchy and society a lot and found so much interesting stuff, like the raids of the SS against the SA. I have a few comics in my head based on that stuff. But I'm more interested in the politics of the Nazis than anything else.
well, let's see, a long time ago the Germans came to England and subjugated the Celts. Then they were invaded themselves by the French. then they, as the English, enslaved and persecuted the Celts again, now known as the Irish and Scottish. Every single race has done something terrible to another and has been a victim at one point, it's just human nature.
I encourage you to lecture, by all means! I love our intellectual discussion. I always learn something, and I definitely share your passions, for sure!

You're welcome.
Yes, it is Simpson related. Could you draw Bob with my OC, Helen or Cecil with Luanne Van Houten?

Here's Bob and Helen and the rest of the family. But you don't have to draw the kids and the dog.

I didn't expect you to finish this so fast!!! O:!!
And I LOVE IT! I just love their eyes (I have an unhealthy obsession with eyes/hands), they look so soulful abd expressive!
I love how you can feel the connection between them in the piece. They deserve to have someone there- even if the nuns are going to get all pissed off later. XD
I started drawing yours and I hope you'll like it as much as I love this!!!
Thank you SO much for the compliments and such! Yes, give it up for the minor characters!

Hooray!! I"m so glad you like it! You're so very welcome, hon! It was a lot of fun to do; my first time drawing a female Simpsons character lol. We should definitely do more art trades in the future, if you'd like!
lol usually I'm terrible with trades and comissions. I take forever, or I don't end up doing it at all, but I was excited to try out Father Sean and Ruth. Father Sean is cute, damn! And he reminds me of Skinner, another character I really like and feel for. And Ruth is badass, I can tell
ohhhh godddd I can't wait for mine!! xD
