A very beautiful piece... the soft tones and colours project a sense of innocence yet the depth in the eyes give it a sense of sadness as well. I am amazed at the emotions projected just by a relatively simple portrait work.
The colour palette may be a little flat, however this may add to the effect of a strong piece. The monotonous colours exude this feeling of sympathy and even empathy to a point. Did we all have this similar look as a child? A sense of awe and in our youth, where the world looks all the same?
