I never existed.
My footprint fades,
Leaving no mark.
Here I  lie . . .
   discarded.
An old broken toy that has fulfilled its' purpose.
Forget me . . .
I never existed.
But you lied, didn't you?
The truth is a puzzle no one even tries to solve
Plunged into the darkest reaches of the mind
Offered a candle that flares once,
Then gutters.
The candle would have died anyway.
There's nothing for it to shine on.
I never existed.
