hm, i was just wondering... horses do not have a round pupil, it's more rectangular like you can see it f.e. on goats or sheep.

This is a stylized eye it isn't supposed to be realistic as I have answered a few comments on here and it is also stated in the tutorial.

It's a shame my brain couldn't take it all in though, i didn't really understand bits like, burning and dodging, i know how to burn and dodge, but you did say to create new layers each time...so if i set it to burn, the whole eye went funny

Okay, so I totally love you right now! When I colored my eyes for my horses, I would just paint the eye in, and back off, now if I do this, it will look ten times better! THANK YOU!

Great Tut. The only thing I would add is horses have 'goat' eye pupils - they're oblonged, not circular like humans. It's more appart on blue eyes horses, but all horses have them.

Thanks! And yeah, as you can see by the first few comments as well as the artists comments, I do realize this style is not quite realistic. It's more of a cartoon style, intended to make the eyes more humanly expressive. But of course could always be modified to be more realistic!

Hadn't seen this before but this is great! I never could make a blue eye on a horse but I tried this and it looks great! (It is in the manip I'm doing at the moment ..)
