Nice work, I don't see realistic portrait art when it comes to the X-Men very often!
As for Anna Paquin, definitely not who I would have cast for the role, but in the end, I think she did a decent job. As a whole, the X-Men movies really messed up a lot of the storylines, continuity and characters which was disappointing but it was better than nothing! I think they can do tons better the next time around!

Aw, thank you for your kind comment!
I agree with you about the X-men movies...they were quite messy, but (at least the first two) watchable and good. I hope that in case they do a remake, they'll stick to the comic books and tell the corect origins of each X-man.

Great picture!
On the subject of Anna Paquin as Rogue, I also have something to say if I can.
I liked the X-Men original cartoon in kindergarden and Rogue was one of my faves. Then I kinda forgot about the X-Men.. and what brought me back was a video of one of my friends on YouTube.. a Rogue/Logan video with clips from the movies.
I have to say that as I recodnized Wolverine I had no idea whatsoever who that girl with him was. Till I saw the white in her hair. Then somehow I made the connection and I was like Wtf?!
Rogue in the movie was totally, totally, totally messed up. Did I say totally? She got her white streak from Magneto.. wtf? Isn't she supposed to have in as a kid too? She had like no accent compared to the original show IMO and she was a whiny teenager. Rogue.. isn't whiny.
She was a mix of Jubilee and Kitty Pryde, and that itself led to Kitty's personality being messed up in X3. On that account, no Kitty/Colossus?? Wtf again??
Then, yeah Rogue and Iceman. No Gambit. What. on earth. were. they. thinking??? As much as I enjoy Rogue/Logan in the movies I would have preffered for Gambit to be in them. Again Rogue and Iceman wtf??
Another thing that really bothered me was her brown eyes. ROGUE HAS GREEN EYES!!! I was so happy as a kid that she had eyes like me. And then what they ruined my fantasy!!
Seriously, not funny.
And yeah, she got powerless at the end without even having the ability to fly. Wtf?
Oh yeah.. and am I wrong they gave her her first first name in the movies? Marie? Before that what was her name? I don't really remember but I would have liked for her to be just Anna. Not a big point but still!
Anna Paquin def wouldn't be my choice for Rogue. Not to mention that after the first movie, Rogue turned 180 degrees and from the cool chick she was in the original cartoon she became the unfriendly gothic girl in X-Men Evo. That could have been different. Rogue then also lost Ms. Marvel's abilities in the comics and blablabla.. I could go on forever but I think this comment has gotten long enough..
Sorry if I bother you with my thoughts It's just when I start talking over something I can't stop!!

Of course you didn't bother me!
All the things you mentioned have crossed my mind like a thousand times. Even when I tried my best to accept Rogue the way she's in the films, I just couldn't.
Especially in the first movie she was so annoying! First of all one comic fan wouldn't recognise her (I didn't at first) cause of her normal brown hair (wtf?), her brown eyes (I loved her green eyes for the same reasons you did. I also have green eyes) and the fact that she lived with her real parents (No Mystique nor Destiny! No Brotherhood!). She was also such a crybaby at many points! Where's the independent, dynamic, energetic and sassy Rogue we all knew and loved? The southern belle? (no southern accent? ) The entire character was instantly ruined...
Ιn the 2nd movie she was a little more bearable. She had officialy her white streak and she looked more like a grown up. She didn't cry nor being that annoying... But the whole thing with Iceman (omg ) was so wrong. Why couldn't they just add a Gambit in the role? Was it so hard to find an actor? The whole Remy love story was one of the most important reasons I loved Rogue as a character in both comics and the 90's cartoon.
I won't even bother to mention the 3rd film... failure. Rogue took the cure? They could make it like in the cartoon and make her change her mind cause with her powers, she could help people and protect her loved ones... But no. Lets just give the cure to Rogue and delete her personality and the character development.
Why would they ruin the story and the character itself of one of the most important and lovable X-women characters? >:/

Hey I'm glad I didn't!
Yes yes so true!! I didn't recodnize her at first when I saw movie footage too! Her hair, her eyes, her whiny attitude and her accent... It wasn't Rogue that everyone knew. Nope. And yeah. Her whole attitude as a southern belle was.. uh.. gone.
Yeah in the second movie she was less whiny but the relationship with Iceman kinda ruined it for mee too.. indeed why didn't they put Gambit in the films?
Yeah it was so so so so wrong to let her take that cure. Honestly, I hoped she'd refuse and come back to the Institute but nope. She is now totally powerless without EVER having Ms. Marvel's abilities.....

Lovely. I think Paquin did a good job, although I didn't notice Rogue's southern accent before someone mentioned it to me.

First of all, thank you!
Yeah, she was good but not good enough for Rogue. Her role was a little miswritten. She wasn't that tought and sassy, a real southern belle and her whole story was changed. No Mistique or Destiny related, no white stroke from the begining, no green eyes, no Brotherhood and then X-men, no Ms Marvel (well, the not Ms Marvel part was not that important) etc... But the most important...NO GAMBIT and Cajun love?
And indeed her accent wasn't hearable and understood enough...

Second of all, you're welcome.
I read that her character contained some parts of Jubilee's personality, and that's why she wasn't that similar to her comic counterpart. She had that "I'm just a kid" personality. And yes, no Gambit dulled the story immensely.

Yes, she reminded me a lot of Jubilee. But when I first saw it (a time that I knew few characters) I thought at a first glance that she was Kitty...

Yeah, some of Kitty's character was mixed in as well.
